Povetkin will become the interim champion...Badhusker wrote:You forgot to add........that Wilder should give his belt up to Povetkin.asdfjkl wrote:Knowing that Ortiz already scheduled his next fight shows me that he doesn't really expect much competition.
Re: Malik Scott claims he 'picked' Ortiz
A revealing fight was Leapai-Boytsov... Leapai won every round on my card and Boytsov was lucky to go the distance after grabbing, running and holding all night to keep from getting knocked out, and he was knocked down twice... Boytsov is 36-1 and has fought the most deceptive list of powder puff opponents of any name fighter ever -- some of them with very good records, but none with any ability... It just shows what you can do with non-title fights and clever matchmaking.. You can go undefeated forever.. If Boytsov had beaten Leapai he would have scored a heavyweight title fight with Klitschko for a few million dollars.. Then he'd have retired from Boxing for good after being exposed as a pathetic swinger.. Now he's back at, it still hoping his number comes up.
I thought Malik Scott boxed Thompson better than Takam or Pulev did - except for the punch that put him down in the 9th.. I also thought he was floored with a rabbit punch by Chisora, and it certainly looked like he beat the count... I was shocked that he wasn't allowed to continue... He was winning the fight on points at the time of the erroneous call by the British ref.
Scott knows that this may he his last ticket to a possible World Title Fight.. Because Luis Ortiz is 37 he thinks he can spring a Buster Douglas or Leon Spinks type upset.. That desperation will drive him to a stellar performance.. It could happen, but I think Ortiz is going to waste him.. Ortiz is too good, and the Jennings fight showed where he's at relative to Klitschko and some other top Heavyweights.. Jennings was lucky to get out of the 1st round.
