Good stuff. I'll go with a DeGale points victory in a scrappy but entertaining fight.
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
Good matchup, probably won't be great to watch but definitely fairly intriguing one for boxing fans. DeGale can do this, Jack isn't owt special but one of those who probably is underrated in terms of what he does and how effective he is with his style. I take DeGale points, close one though.
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
degale for me too, although much depends on who behaves themselves over Christmas !
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
Most importantly, how does DeGale rate this kid's appearance? That's what fights fans care about.
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
Degale clear UD if he doesn't take too many rest rounds.
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
Thats the whole key I think as well, Chunky will have his customary 3 rounds off plus his 2 light rounds and make it very hard for himself away from home in Vegas with a Mayweather fighter, he really does not want to leave this closedanamba7 wrote:Degale clear UD if he doesn't take too many rest rounds.

Fancy jack in this fight. Was impressed with him against groves. Pretty relentless just kept on coming all night. Degale likes his rests dont think jack will give him many

Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
I've never been impressed with Jack, DeGale should win this relatively comfortably if he doesn't switch off as usual.
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
Degale is a loss waiting to happen with his breaks and Jack could be all wrong for him with his workrate.
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
I agree completely.Lenny wrote:Degale is a loss waiting to happen with his breaks and Jack could be all wrong for him with his workrate.

Neither have I but he knows how to win being the underdog. Don't forget everyone thought Groves was going to smash him too.Boxerbeetle wrote:I've never been impressed with Jack, DeGale should win this relatively comfortably if he doesn't switch off as usual.
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
Degale to come through some hairy moments and win on points
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
He is a loss waiting to happen but I think it'll take someone better than Jack to do it. He's good at what he does but he's nothing special. DeGale will make things harder than they need to be but he should still get the win. I rate Dirrell as a far better fighter than Jack and DeGale managed the win there although he made hard work of it!Lenny wrote:Degale is a loss waiting to happen with his breaks and Jack could be all wrong for him with his workrate.
Jack has a few good wins as well though. Anthony Dirrell and Groves were close but solid wins. Maybe he's better than he looks?
If DeGale wins and looks good then maybe a fight against the Kovalev v Ward fight would be an option at LHW? Then we'd probably see that loss lol.
Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
Degale is going to need to win wide to get the decision in Vegas against a may weather promoted fighter. The decision will be tight if chunky does his customary snooze rounds.
I still think degake can win but as jack showed against groves. It won't be easy pickings

Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
He's got a loss already. So what? A proper fight IS a loss waiting to happen for either guy. If he loses I can't see it being wide and there's nothing wrong with his chin so he's not getting KO'd (not by Jack anyway). It baffles me how UK promoters have pissed Degale away when the guy has not ducked anybody and is probably the best fighter in a division that is historically quite British dominated. Eddie Hearn can hard sell Kell Brook, who is at least an awkward a personality as James and has avoided more significant fights than he has fought, but has never put his weight behind James who's travelled and fought juiced fighters in their backyards, come away with wins, could be unified champion soon... I know James had made money with Haymon but he's earned it.Stuarty30 wrote:He is a loss waiting to happen but I think it'll take someone better than Jack to do it. Even if he loses there's still big fights for James: rematch with Jack, rematch with Groves, GGG. I'm sure Stevenson at LHW could be made.

Where is this fight happening?
I might go if there's a chance of me bumping into DeGales sister

Didn't Hearn try to get the Degale thing going but James then signed with the US PBC thing?clopixolacuphase wrote:He's got a loss already. So what? Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
The comment of him being a loss waiting to happen was because of the way he fights. He takes full rounds off and invites fighters on to the ropes to open up on him. As a fan of DeGale it's frustrating to watch at times because he has bags of talent and we're forever being told how fit he is...clopixolacuphase wrote:He's got a loss already. So what? I'm not sure what's happened with his promotional situation? It sounded like him and Hearn had a bit of a fall out a while ago and they both had a little snipe or two at one another.
I think he'll beat Jack then he'll have some good options open to him. If he stays at SMW then another unification with Ramirez would be interesting or GG would no doubt be a good earner. Kovalev/Ward or as you mentioned Stevenson are good fights for him to get his teeth in to at LHW.

I think Hearn was/still is his promoter but Haymon was more a manager wasn't he?Taansend wrote:Didn't Hearn try to get the Degale thing going but James then signed with the US PBC thing?clopixolacuphase wrote:He's got a loss already. I'm really pleased that Chunky is getting big fights and more importantly, big money since going with Haymon. Well done that man.

Re: James DeGale (IBF) vs. Badou Jack (WBC) - January 14th 2017
I would imagine he thinks that Hearn could have made the Carl Froch fight for him if he really wanted to, and probably promised it too. Hearn is the sort of promoter that would have preferred Groves 3 to Degale and I'm sure he figured he wasn't high up on the priority list so looked elsewhere. Making a ton of money in the process so fair play to the lad.keithmoonhangover wrote:He mocked Hearn a little while back.
