Flying in a can for Flanagan.. Typical warren weakass WBO title defence.

Mind you eddies flying in a can for AJ too..

It's the year of the tomato can!

Maybe they mean Orlando Bloom :maybe:

But seriously folks, this is an epic match up.

Orlando Cruz has fought in Orlando AND he likes to cruise whereas Terry Flanagans name is made up of two types of towel. A terry towel AND a flannel.

How could they NOT make this fight? Well overdue if you ask me.

Another weak fight for Flanagan, though probably still a step up from Fana's corpse.

Shìtty match up! Does this dude only get big fights because of his back story?

It would have been just about acceptable as a first defence. But not after fana.

2016 has been a big year for Flanagan

Frank's increasingly moving towards a model where he'll put just two shows a year on - 28 bouts per card.

Pretty underwhelming, but not a terrible opponent considering it's less than a month away.

I'm no promoter but why the fornicate is Terry Flannagan fighting in Wales again? The first time I understood but fighting in Cardiff again? Why isn't he being pushed in you know, his hometown , Manchester? It's a city which backs it's fighters and with Crolla doing his thing and having a decent following that could be built into a big fight. It still could be built into a big fight but come on Frank, put a decent card together in Manchester and get building. I'm a fan of Terry and this shite isn't good enough

Really, a short, 35-year-old jr. Featherweight clubfighter is not a terrible opponent for a lightweight beltholder coming off a "defense" against an effing grandfather? What is terrible? Beating up someone tied to a chair? It's an effing disgrace

Disgraceful opponent. Flanagan has established himself as a world level fighter, no excuse to be fighting the dregs of the division.

Baffling how supposed world champs like Joshua, Flanagan and Billy Joe keep fighting such poor opponents.

Credit to Crolla, he may have lost but at least he faced one of the divisions best in Linares and the at the time highly rated Barroso who had just ko`d a solid fighter in Mitchell.

I dunno, I wouldn't mind watching someone tied to a chair getting beaten up.

As a short notice opponent on a card where he isn't the feature, this opponent is fine with me.

Flanagan is looking for the big fights, but in the mean time can't stay stagnant, so fair play to him for keeping busy rather than sitting on his arse and waiting.

That's Warren for you! Fight probably won't go ahead. I'm very sceptical about his cards nowadays! I certainly wouldn't buy tickets for one.

What a,shocking fight. He lost to salido at featherweight, hasn't fought above NABO level at super feather but now gets a shot at a lightweight belt.

The bookies will have this as what it is an easy win for terry. I imagine a double that night for terry and BJS will be around 1/1000

Can see Flanagan winning early.

Cruz seems to of got this because he has a tiny profile due to his back story.

Can't fault Flanagan for staying busy but he needs better opposition.

I've said on this forum numerous times Flanagan absolutely dominates Crolla.

But this fight does absolutely nothing. The whole situation with the Fana fight was FW saying oh it will be a big fight next etc etc. yes I'm aware the the Verdejo fight was probably going to happen on the Pacquaio Vargas card in a couple of weeks but they could have got someone better than this.

I didn't watch the Fana fight because I couldn't be bothered with it being 1/80 or so for Flanagan but saw the post fight interview and he just looked bored. Most thought he would smash Fana but sometimes fighters can't get up for these fights and it can show in their performances.

Orlando Cruz is just an embarassing opponent. We all give Hearn sh*t for some of the stuff he pulls off but I don't think he would do something this bad for a world title defence. The only world level guy Cruz fought was Salido and he got absolutely annihilated. That was 2 weight divisions below. The guy he lost to after that was the guy Lomachenko smashed about on the Mayweather Pacquaio undercard.

Just look at the WBO rankings.

1 Felix Verdejo (Latino) PR
2 Petr Petrov RUS
3 Jose Felix, Jr. MEX
4 Daud Yordan IND
5 Mason Menard (NABO) USA
6 Saul Rodriguez USA
7 Sharif Bogere UGA
8 Juan Martin Elorde (Oriental) PHI
9 Paulus Moses (WBO Africa) NAM
10 Roman Andreev (Int-Cont) RUS
11 Juan Diaz USA
12 Thomas Stalker (WBO Europe) UK
13 Liam Walsh UK
14 Alejandro Laguna MEX
15 Richar Abril

Come on one of these would be better, Daud Yordan I've seen knocking about the top 15-20 for a while on Boxrec same with Sharif Bogere ( I think he was top 10 in ring magazine not too long ago) Juan Diaz said he was offered a fight and it was poor money.

How is Cruz even being allowed to fight for the title if he isn't in the division or rankings? Is it because he won one of their vacant trinkets at SFW? If so that's a pissing joke!
