Even Price would have been better, despite it being a mismatch as well.

Talent like Joshua has shouldn't be wasted on clubfighters like Molina.
Molina as bang average as he is- he'd still likely beat Price. I think any fighter with some durability and can hit back beats price.

I also imagine that Molina has been chosen (if he has) because he's asking for less money than Price. Price only wants the Joshua fight so he can cash out and probably retire. He's very likely asking for more than his current market rate is worth.

So has every other fight hes had. His most competitive fight has been Whyte and that includes title fights. Im not a hater (yet) just want to see him take on one of thye big names that are forever courted.
I want the same as well as I hate having to say keep busy. It would be nice if Handsome Eddie could look down the back of the sofa and make it happen as we want Josh to do well.

Completely pointless fight. I'd honestly rather not see Joshua fight at all than watch this crap.
My exact thoughts mate. I can't decide who's at fault for this though, I guess he can only fight what's infront of him
I don't buy that. He has no choice in the matter sh*t. He surely could've demanded something more meaningful from Hearn than this garbage.

Looking @ the IBF list, and discounting huge names that won't happen on such short notice, I'd say...

Stiverne
Hughie Fury
Baby Miller
Takam (dec. loss to parker acceptable)
Duhaupas
and Pulev

are all MUCH Better than Molina. Nothing against Molina, seems like a nice guy.

How do you all think Molina gets on with AJ's last 3 opponents?

That's my feeling so rather than some surprise missmatch it's very much business as usual. Few world champions these days take risks unless it's a unification fight or they are some how forced into it.

Anyone who advocates AJ taking huge unnecessary risks with massive fights in the pipe line vs wlad , Haye etc is totally bonkers imo.

Could be a huge 20 million plus fight for you in 4 months but let's risk it all for a few £££ in Dec just to please some hardcore fans

From what I can make out the target audience for AJ is a cross over, very much causal boxing audience and a lot of woman.. They won't care who he fights, most just want to see a ko.

It's just the way it is..

This is businessman' point of view, but I'm not a businessman, I'm boxing fan, and I would like to see so many competitive matches.

Molina beats Price for me but how does he beat Joshua? I can't think of one. Price could land a big shot on Joshua early (I don't think he has the guts to throw a big shot at Joshua). Chances are really slim but at least they exist.

Of course neither of them should be fighting for titles

No I agree. If you were Hearn though would you pay for Price's services with the possibility of your cash cow getting knocked out by a guy that is seen as useless and terrible (the public perception of his abilities can't be much worse) Or would you pick a guy that is little threat and is asking for possibly significantly less money for all we know? Who also went 9 rounds with Wilder and you could use as narrative for where Joshua is at compared to Wilder? Joshua has that big showtime deal now aswell and Wilder is also on showtime. Looking at it from Hearns perspective, it makes more sense to choose Molina I think.

It's the right opponent for AJ at this time, purely for money I think price would of sold more PPv.

I don't think either Price or Molina would sell a huge number of PPV's. Joshua probably will but then he always does no matter who he fights.

Well depends on the undercard for me, it's only what £20 . It's not like it's smith canelo for £80 like the poor yanks have to fork out..

If it's a solid undercard then il pay £20. I did my little protest against sky and Murdoch for years and missed the careers of some great boxers in the process.. Got a dish ten years ago, it's all down hill from here

Hearn should have approached Shannon The Cannon Briggs. Guy wants to finish his career on a big PPV. Why not ? :TU:

Finally, finally an opponent is named. That's at least some kind of progress.
