Matchroom announcing big news tomorrow

Re: Matchroom announcing big news tomorrow
I'm not really sure what Matchroom's thinking is behind signing Katie Taylor because lets think about this? Personally I think she can fight and at a good standard. But how many female fighters can genuinely fight? Assuming you think like me then not many. Wish i was wrong but the fact is if the standard was good across the board i'm sure female boxing would at least attract interest from tv. So with that in mind who will be able to provide her with competitive fight? They may well find one, possibly two but thats not enough to sustain a career in pro boxing. Surely we ca do without more mismatches?
Re: Matchroom announcing big news tomorrow
It's not as bad for Taylor (who incidentally already seems past her best to me), but for Clarissa Shields up in the 160s the matchmaking is going to get fat and boring very quickly. I think there is generally more talent in the female amateur game, although I suppose that moves like this will help to change that.
Wouldn't be surprised if we see some circus exhibitions/publicized sparring/loads of staged training footage against men who come to be dominated....look, women are tougher than men! As long as it's not as insufferable as the Rousey hype, which by comparison makes GGG seem horribly unappreciated.

Kim Kardashian is more famous than any UK boxer at present as well! Means nothing! If Rousey looked like Jane Couch nobody would give two shìts about her same as woman's boxing.mullenman wrote:All the fools that think female boxing is poo said the same about female ufc...

I'd give one to Jane couch. The roughness attracts me.Stuarty30 wrote:Kim Kardashian is more famous than any UK boxer at present as well! Means nothing! This is an interesting one as Hearn a few years ago when asked about Nicola Adams said he didn't think there was demand for women's boxing.
Surely he will sign Nicola Adams then ? I was talking to my best mate about it yesterday. Ask everyone in your work who Carl Frampton is not a lot of them will know but they will all know Nicola Adams.
Personally ( and it's clear from reading this thread so far ) this is influenced the success of the woman in UFC in the last couple of years. Rhonda Rousey was massive until the Holm fight headlining big cards and being in equal footing to the men.

Re: Matchroom announcing big news tomorrow
Do people watch womens fighting for the quality? Or just because the girl is half hot? It seems a lot of women fighting are faded ex porn stars! In my opinion Rousey did well because of her looks, and while both Adams and Taylor are better fighters they won't get the same exposure.
Women fighting is still theatre, moreover porno theatre. As a previous poster said, Jane Couch wouldn't get a look in.
