Buzzing.

Post by stujones »

Tonights main event has got me absolutely buzzing. I really am looking forward to it. Haven't been so up for a fight since Williams vs Klitchsko - that turned into a damp squid, but this one surely cannot. Two quality operators who both like to come forward and fight.

Still think Lacy mind.

Well done to everyone concerned in getting this fight agreed, Calzaghe has gone up in my estimation win, lose or draw.

Couldn't agree more Stu. This surely can't be anything other than a fantastic fight.

A real pick'em too. Immediately I went for Lacy with a TKO. Calzaghe is no doubt a class act, but given his poor opponents of late, It's hard to see whether he'll still be able to take on an opponent like that. There is a niggle in my mind over his hand too. But then again there are ? over Lacy. Still relatively innexperienced, and had a tough time with Sheika. And his last two opponents were arguably shot.

Anyway, we'll find out in 12 or so hours :TU:

This is a great night for UK boxing, and if Calzaghe wins it will be one of the best nights, how often does a British fighter succeed in a unification battle against a top rated American. Last time I can recall was Lewis against Holyfield.

I have mixed feelings and as yet for some reason just can't 'get up' for this fight.

Maybe it's because I have other things on my mind and in a few hours time I will start to get excitied.

Also as an ex-Calzaghe fan I have got so bored and fustrated with his career over the last five years maybe I have gone past the point of no return, as it were.

Maybe after a few drinks with friends later I will loosen up and get into 'Fight Night Mode'.

We shall see.

Agreed.

I am at Heathrow now about to fly up to Manchester and am genuinely excited.

Still keep changing my mind about the result though....

Yep, I'm well up for this one. Still can't make my mind up about a winner, I'm tentatively picking Calzaghe on points, but I'm not in the least bit confident about it. I love the 2am start, means I've got more time to pace around the front room in expectation.

Now, must go and buy snacks and beer. :TU:
