Samuel Peter is BACK!!
“Nigerian Nightmare” Sam Peter returned to the ring this week and hardly anybody noticed. Fighting in Mexico, the former WBC heavyweight champ stopped a 6-9 fighter named Juan Carlos Salas in three rounds. Now 36-3(29) Peter scaled 262-pounds.
Still only 36 years old, Peter last faced anyone of note back in 2011 when he was brutally stopped by Robert Helenius. Before that, Peter lost his WBC belt to a comebacking Vitali Klitschko.
It’s not clear if Peter is again serious about fighting or whether he is merely picking up a little cash. There was a time when the power hitter was a genuine force and fan-favourite, but today it is almost certain Peter will not get anything like a big fight again.
Still, in boxing you never really know for sure. Maybe, if he can string together a few wins, peter could wind up being put in with a name.
A return with Robert Helenius would prove somewhat interesting.

A 6-9 opponent: he must be confident about where he is right now!
David Haye will be really jealous to find out that someone is able to find worse comeback opponents than him!
Maybe he should look about fighting Ike Ibeabuchi?
What's The President up to these days?

He's been hopeless for years and way past his best. His best wasn't anything special either. Best he can hope for is a pay day against an up an comer and he'll be there as fodder.
Re: Samuel Peter is BACK!!
Still wouldn't dismiss his chances against David Price.
Re: Samuel Peter is BACK!!
Let him and Briggs fight. Apparently guys like him have a really hard time finding a job after boxing.

Re: Samuel Peter is BACK!!
Well in today's dismal heavyweight division, where a lumbering drug addict is the heavyweight champion of the world (forget those ridiculous sanctioning body edicts) I suppose that even an aging, washed up Samuel Peter can be a heavyweight contender again.
Re: Samuel Peter is BACK!!
It wouldn't surprise me if he got into one of the ABC rankings, but I don't think he'll be a top 15 fighter.
Re: Samuel Peter is BACK!!
The division is a joke right now. Anyone can become a contender and get a payday.
Re: Samuel Peter is BACK!!
You know, come to think of it, it would at least be interesting to see him fight Ibeabuchi, assuming Ibeabuchi can finally get back in the ring.

I wouldn't write back like BACK!! ... it would be more like Sam Peter is back.
Tough guy. Respectable. Hope he added something new to his game.
