This is just an opinion, just what makes sense to me but I believe Mayweather Pac was luck. It was not some elaborate scheme that had been engineered for years, it was great timing. People say that Golden Boy are trying to follow this blueprint but I think they've got it backwards. Goldenboy are trying to blueprint Mayweathers unbeaten record. They would prefer Canelo to remain undefeated as they believe that this is key to money. I'm aware that Canelo already has a blemish on his record although GBP can spin that loss- "Canelo was to young, Mayweather was the PFP, Canelo was told to lose to Mayweather, excuse, excuse.
A lot can happen in boxing, its a big risk to post pone a fight. Both fighters are at a relative height in momentum and that can change, their human, life happens, people loose, people get injured, boxing fans loose interest. IMO it's all about protecting Canelos record and giving him the best chance to win and that overrides delaying the fight for a bigger purse down the track. This fight could have been made, there could be a rematch being made or a trilogy. It's less about them fighting and more about Canelo winning.
