#1 Reason Why Canelo/Golovkin Will Not Happen

Post by bnovelist »

As great of a fighter GGG is....the thought of stepping into the ring against Canelo as the FAVORITE then soon finding out Canelo is EXTREMELY

ADVANCED.                This would spell nightmares for the GGG camp and

it's highly possible. There are a gazillion reasons but this comes to my mind 1st. Them finding out Canelo is a puzzle and taking serious liver shots

until he's able to solve that puzzle. Ya'll can FOREVER forget about this fight its a pipedream    :brick: :OhYes: :bag: :maybe: :witzend:

The reason that this fight will not happen (for a while) is the same reason that Mayweather-Pacquiao took so long. . . . It is in everyone's financial interests to let it season and build into a bigger event . . . even to the detriment of an aging boxer in Golovkin. . . After all ultimately it's all about money and not just to satisy the boxing forum fans.

This is just an opinion, just what makes sense to me but I believe Mayweather Pac was luck. It was not some elaborate scheme that had been engineered for years, it was great timing. People say that Golden Boy are trying to follow this blueprint but I think they've got it backwards. Goldenboy are trying to blueprint Mayweathers unbeaten record. They would prefer Canelo to remain undefeated as they believe that this is key to money. I'm aware that Canelo already has a blemish on his record although GBP can spin that loss- "Canelo was to young, Mayweather was the PFP, Canelo was told to lose to Mayweather, excuse, excuse.

A lot can happen in boxing, its a big risk to post pone a fight. Both fighters are at a relative height in momentum and that can change, their human, life happens, people loose, people get injured, boxing fans loose interest. IMO it's all about protecting Canelos record and giving him the best chance to win and that overrides delaying the fight for a bigger purse down the track. This fight could have been made, there could be a rematch being made or a trilogy. It's less about them fighting and more about Canelo winning.

Canelo had 2 chances to show everyone how much more advanced he is and after all the tough guy talk Canelo chose to fight Amir Khan, then he vacated his WBC MIDDLEWEIGHT title and chose to fight Liam Smith.
That's 2 chances and 2 times he ducked GGG.
It's a shame Saul isn't as confident as his built in braindead casual fanbase.
