A few will question Briggsy's fitness etc but there is one thing that is for sure and Paul does not want to be embarrassed in this. he will come in ready to fight. Greeny offered to give Briggsy a warm up bout and he didnt want it, he said he can't get up for a warm up bout (remember Holyfield v Czyz). I think Greeny will win, but it should be a war and there is no way Green has been in a bout with anyone who punches as hard as Briggs

I went to the trouble of starting a NEW THREAD specifically for dated, off-topic dribble.
This thread is about the rematch at the Adelaide Oval in February. Please respect that.

Lawyer and long serving Chairman of the Professional Boxing & Combat Association of Victoria, Bernie Balmer, said in an interview on SEN radio earlier this week that he had no problem with the Mundine – Green matchup, including any potential difference between their respective weights.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:amwsnw wrote:would this fight be getting bagged if these two were making the same as fenech and nelson did for their third fight, or is there just immense jealousy around that these two have been able to conjour up the publicity to earn such a huge amount of money ? True but,but lets keep it on topic Clive. Re: Green vs Mundine II to be held at Adelaide Oval in 2017?
In the interview, Bernie Balmer went on to say that the Professional Boxing & Combat Association had commission a long term study into weight gained in the period between the weigh-in and the fight.
He said conclusions were that most of what is accumulated during this period is simply water and that the effect of that weight wasn’t seen as a distinct advantage to either fighter, regardless of whether one put on more weight than the other.
Balmer was applying the analogy of these findings to the Mundine – Green fight, where there is every likelihood Green will put on more weight between the weigh-in and the fight than Mundine will.

The pair of them have contemplated this fight for years and both signed on the dotted line after much consideration and with their eyes open.
At the end of the fight there will be a winner and a loser, and no amount of excuses will change the result.

Mate if your were talking about Nevada Boxing commission then you would get my attention any Boxing commission worth their salt would not approve a Jr Middleweight v Cruiserweight even if they were going to get $100 million each and regardless of how many kickbacks they get they'll be VIP'S at the fight won't they AND wearing Green NO DOUBT

Former Vic chief (senior public servant) Bart McCarthy assisted SA government with legislation, which was implemented to stop so called "tough men" comps, which were no more than pubs/clubs setting-up rings & inviting patrons who grew balls with every grog to participate. There was also problems with Vic registered kickboxers. Numerous fought in Adelaide under bum names while suspended.Like a Boss wrote:The Victorian Chairman of the Professional Boxing & Combat Association, Bernie Balmer, said he has no problem with the weight difference. Boxing is contested under ANBF rules - observed by government compliance officer Tom Hunter. There's no weight difference rule within ANBF.
