At least one of the elderlies will be shut forever, and if Briggs wins, probably more elderly will follow.
Re: "David Haye doesn't deserve a title shot" - Lucas Browne
Browne beat Chagaev, but he was past his prime. I agree that Haye would beat Browne. These sanctioning bodies should stop making their own rankings and just use BoxRec. Then, they would not have to worry about being sued just because they drop someone a few spots. The Global Boxing Union uses BoxRec. I see this Browne vs. Briggs matchup as being slow and sluggish. Briggs could win and he is 44 years old. Then, the winner gets to fight Fres Oquendo who is 43 years old. The WBA resolves their legal problems. That's all this is about. None of them are real champions.

Try these www.premierboxingorganisation.com/heavyweight-200 Shows who has beaten who, low numbers really are the evidence of who deserves title shots and who are underserving.RScarf1 wrote:Browne beat Chagaev, but he was past his prime. The rankings of the ABC's over-all are somewhat laughable at different weights. WBA having Briggs ranked in the top ten is a good example.

Of course Briggs does though
. According to Browne 'at least Briggs wants the big fights'...which is rubbish, he just wants the big cash.

That looks like a good rating system because they have to fight good competition in order to significantly improve their rating. Their website states that they worked with the IBO until 2014. Any good computerized rating system is better than what the major sanctioning bodies do.

Seems Haye will get his shot at the WBO title against the winner of Parker vs Ruiz early next year anyway.

He doesn't deserve a crack at any title. The WBA title is sh*t so it's not surprising he gets a crack at it because only undeserving people are ever fighting for it anymore anyway.

Haye is one of the most talented Heavyweights in the history of Boxing, but he's throwing away his talent and his career.. First by over-training and getting injured all the time, and now by not fighting enough.. If you're smashing guys in a round or 2 you need more action and more fights to stay sharp.. I remember when Sonny Liston had 3 rounds of action in 3 years---and they were shortened rounds at that---before fighting massive underdog Cassius Clay.. I was pretty certain Clay would win.. When Haye gets into the mid-rounds of a competitive fight he's going to be calling on skills that won't be particularly sharp when he needs them.

Oh I'm sorry I thought this was a DISCUSSION forum? F*ck outta here with that BS. Lucas Browne is in no position to say who deserves what in this sport. Especially when the dude he's critiquing has accomplished more than he has. He just sounds ridiculous. The one good win he had - he failed a drug test. Haye wouldn't need drugs to beat old man Chagaev. And he wouldn't need them to plaster Browne either.Like a Boss wrote:Nameless, faceless nobodies on forums also have the nerve to talk trash on real fighters, don't theydiddy wrote:It really irks me this no talent, PED-cheat has the nerve to talk trash on real fighters.

His opinion on this DOESNT MAKE ANY F'N SENSE. And neither does yours if you support it. You're merely arguing for the sake of arguing. A blind man could see Haye is much better and more accomplished than Browne.

Haye is a lier, a sad guy, someone who indeed doesn't deserve a titleshot. Someone who doesn't fight if he thinks he will lose, someone who comes up with all kind of bullshitexcuses after he lost a fight he never deserved in the first place. Someone who makes false promises and doesn't stick to his word, someone you can't rely on. He's an actor, acting like a cruiserweight is some kind of good opponent, while he would never show up against a previous champion of the world without a belt, or someone who's young, strong, big and talented, but doesn't offer piles of millions. Also, Haye is only after money, unlike Briggs and Browne, who are purely after recognition.

Stop making stuff up and read what Browne actually said
