Another one, Naz's punch against that Italian fighter when he was becoming considered a world class Super Bantam. If memory serves it was a week after Benn vs McCllellan so "not needed" punches was a particularly raw subject also.

Sergio Liendo? He was Argentinian. Agreed though, it was a pretty bad knockout. Last fight televised on ITV for some while.

The finishing combo that tyson hit bruno with in 89. The uppercut that rocked bruno hurts me no matter how many times I see it

Dean Hickman knocking out Tom Hogan at Dudley Town Hall. I swear Hogan's head travelled to the canvas as fast as the fist that hit it, like, so fast it took a half second for his body to catch up with it. the entire venue went deathly silent, it looked like he was dead.

Anyone mentioned Tommy Morrison v Ray Mercer yet? That was a brutal finish

This was my pick.

That was the most sickening KO I've seen: it was the way he contorted his arm to deliver that shot!

All the more surprising coming from the timid, non punching Harrison!

Some good picks...mine is an odd one. But makes me wince everytime. Enzo mac v david haye. Not even the knockdown. Came about 1 minute forty of the second round left. Mcaranelli came in to attack. Haye hits him with a right hand. Heard the thump. Mcarranelli seems to take it well in terms of his legs etc but kind of took the fight out of him.

Probably a lot more sickening punches out there but for some reason its a punch thats always stayed in my mind. Could probably have a thread dedicated to big mac alone tbf...hitting and being hit.

Great call. I can't think of a single more devastating body shot against a world-class opponent (which obviously makes it that bit more impressive. Honorary mention for JCC Superstar's left hooks to the body though as they definitely delivered some casualties over the years :TU:

Don Curry's KO of Milton McCrory is about as brutal a finishing shot I've seen.

Any number that Mercer landed on Tommy Morrison in the finishing Salvo.

Michael Dokes had a couple of real horrific losses to Morrison, Bowe and especially Ruddock who almost decapitated him.

This is surely worth an honorary mention given the film of his life is out at the moment - just came across this link in a Guardian review:
