Tony Thompson Amatuer Career???

Post by StrapMeUp »

Anybody have any info?

He turned pro at 29, I could have swore I saw a fight where they said he turned pro at 31. Nonetheless he's had a respectable career.

Anybody know when he first started boxing or details on his Amatuer background??

He started boxing at 27 and turned pro at 28 so can't imagine he had many amateur fights.

I good friend of mine lost to him in a 'national' finals but there was less than a dozen fighters involved.

It's crazy that Thompson got as far as he did having never even stepped in a boxing gym before he was 27. Hell of an accomplishment when you think about it.
