Mayweather just walked in
Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
If Vargas boxes as confidently as he just sounded in that interview he could win this. Valdez very impressive, be good to see quigg in with him
Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
Valdez was very impressive. Very hard punches, and a real vicious and consistent attack. The only thing is he might need to calm it down sometimes like Tim Bradley said "Not every punch needs to be the death blow" but he's definitely an exciting young fighter.

Yep, hopefully that at least spurs Manny on to go for the stoppage.Ruthless-RKO wrote:Mayweather just walked in
I don't particularly want to see Mayweather back, and I would really like to see Pac retire soon so I guess if they where to rematch as a swansong for both fighters that would be cool with most.

Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
Decent scrap, Manny looked good at times and Vargas was willing to stand and trade. The rematch is going to happen isnt it?
Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
Manny is well by his best. The speed and power has long gone. If he fights Crawford he will lose.

Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
Just watched Magdaleno's win over Donaire,i had it a draw so wont argue with the decision but 1 of the judges scores was too wide and tjhe twitter poll was even worse, just proof that twitter is full of idiots
Thought Magdaleno started off sharp, landed some crisp punches especially the right hook which worked well but Donaire used his experience to come into the fight and made his right hand work work well for him i think he hurt Magdaleno slightly in the last round, decent fight though

Had no interest in this fight, and will have no interest in Pac vs Vargas 2, 3 or 4.

Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
Another impressive showing from Valdez,he did as he pleased in there and Osawa just couldnt cope with the speed,Valdez does seem to have every punch in the book near perfected, great jab when he uses it,excellent left hook and hurtful right hand, also a wicked body puncher along with the speed and power he'll give Frampton and co decent tests,he does load up though but that may change when he's in with someone he knows he cant walk through,Osawa like all Japanese fighters is tough and can take a shot
Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
This.Didn't really enjoy that fight, its was a bit of a chore to sit through it tbh.imo anyway.Supremo wrote:Manny is well by his best. The speed and power has long gone. If he fights Crawford he will lose.
Thought Magdaleno/Donaire was the best fight of the three but none of them were that special tbh,had Magdaleno winning 7-5.His movement won him the fight he stayed busy for all 12,Donaire did try and come back into it late on but left it too late.Smart fight from Magdaleno actually, didnt have to get involved could just box him circling him and keep the movement going it was working for him.
and Valdez is just class, every time i see him!
Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
You obviously don't like Scott that much lol.veriton wrote:If Vargas boxes as confidently as he just sounded in that interview he could win this. Valdez very impressive, be good to see quigg in with him
Valdez would smoke him.
Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
I really like the look of Magdaleno, he's only 24 and he has a better win on his resume than Quigg and only Framptons win over LSC is better. Didn't score myself but reckon it was around the 8-4 or so. He's one to watch I think.LancashireLoyal wrote:This.Didn't really enjoy that fight, its was a bit of a chore to sit through it tbh.imo anyway.Supremo wrote:Manny is well by his best. Donaire has regressed so much now. He was awesome a few years back but he seemed too upright and plodding. He's been one of the best fighters in the lower weights for the past decade and always seems a genuine good guy.

Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
118-109 Pacquiao on my card, same as 2 of the judges, the other card was too close though, the fight panned out exactly how I thought it might,Vargas tough and game but virtually outclassed,Pacquiao has lost that explosiveness and intensity but he's still a very good fighter if different, especially when you consider he's 37 and had a long tough career, his left hand isn't as potent as it once was but its still his main weapon and works well for him, scoring a nice knockdown early on
I still think Pacquiao is top 10 p4p but I don't look forward to his fights these days

Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
The more i see pacquiao these days and he goes the distance the more i think he was well on p.e.ds when he knocked morales, diaz,de la hoya, hatton and cotto out plus dropping mosley the heaviest he has been down and destroys the monster in margarito. Used to love watchin manny but these facts makes me not like him any more

they're not facts, they're speculation and assumptions.thechump wrote:The more i see pacquiao these days and he goes the distance the more i think he was well on p.e.ds when he knocked morales, diaz,de la hoya, hatton and cotto out plus dropping mosley the heaviest he has been down and destroys the monster in margarito. You might very well be right and I can't totally see your logic. But I'm not about to start hating on one of my favourite ever fighters because we strongly suspect he was a PED abuser.
(I know, total fanboy attitude
Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
if scott wants to be at the top these are the fights he is going to have to take but, yes, valdez would destroy him. if he got stage fright at frampton's feather fists, imagine the look on his face when valdez starts crunching those shots home.Fitzy901 wrote:You obviously don't like Scott that much lol.veriton wrote:If Vargas boxes as confidently as he just sounded in that interview he could win this. Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
Shiming looked the best I've seen him as a pro. Great punch selection and finally starting to sit down on his shots. Punch power poor and you'd not hesitate to put Selby in with him in 12 months time. Chocolito walks through him.
Magdaleno really impressed me. Looked fantastic first few rounds. Engine suspect and got caught more as the fight went on.
Donaire looked shot for the first time. The movement has slowed significantly and his left hook has lost the snap. Hope he hangs them up would hate to see him end up like Vic Darch fighting on to long.
Valdez- looks great. Power in both hands. Exciting fighter. Punch selection needs improving but the top guys might try and fight him now as he looks a improving fighter. With good matchmaking and timing could be top 10 P4P in the next few years.
Pacman- For the first time in his career I thought he looked sluggish. Feet not as quick as I'm used to seeing from him. Power seems suspect still at WW post 2009. Hope he doesn't fight Floyd again I see if being wider.
Vargas- Boxed well in stages but his level is apparent. Will lose against any of the top boys but good enough to upset any future stars. Spence would be a good test for both.
Commentary Team- Bradley was surprisingly good and did well to shut the moron up.
Kenny was good as he always was on ESPN.
Avery raped my ears with 3 hours of nonsense.

Re: Jessie Vargas vs Manny Pacquiao,
That guy in commentary was pure shite, kept piping up with smart arse comments to Bradley, effing pudendum, there was a round he scored even but had a dig at people who gave it to Pacquiao,so it was close enough to be scored an even round but not for Manny?PredatorHayds wrote:Shiming looked the best I've seen him as a pro. Seemed to rate his own opinion higher than everyone else's including Bradley.
