Post by Jip »

Ask this question one year later, then we might know :)

I don't know who is the best without seeing some of them face each other.
Difficult to not pick Wlad I reckon.

Think Povetkin and Haye have a good shout at beating some of the names you have there

Klitschko at the moment. But let's see what he's got left.

According to present results convincingly Klitschko but the possibilities can be discussed.

I can see, Klitschko, Joshua, Wilder and Ortiz all beating each other; it's very hard to pick from them, as neither of them are the perfect fighter - all have flaws that the others can punish (as being a heavyweight, you only need a chance to land a big shot and it's goodnight.)

He still needs testing, but going on general observation I'd say Joshua. Fit, strong, powerful, tall, long levers etc etc - everything's going for him. I think Klitschko's gone over the cliff.

Yes, I do mean Haye and Povetkin
I never said either were the best heavyweight on the planet.
I said they would beat some of the names on that list.
And I'm right
That's all

I pick Ortiz.

Ortiz - most skilled
Klit - most experienced
Joshua - best athlete
Parker - best compromise of youth, skill an athleticism
Wilder - best bullshiter

Ask this question after Spring next year.. We'll see which boxers are the real deal and which were just 'talkers'

Povetkin's last competitive fight was more than 2 years ago(Takam), and Haye's last competitive fight was even earlier....and in their age years do not donate to a boxer :verysad:

I don't doubt that, but I do rate both and would be shocked if they couldn't pick up a win or two from that list

Fair enough, but Wilder does at least match all of them for one punch power. He's certainly not top of the list though

Tough choice. I went with potential as a tiebreaker. It's still Joshua.

Wlad is the man until proven otherwise, since Fury is taken out of the equation.

Who would win?

Joshua vs Pulev
Wilder vs Haye
Parker vs Povetkin

Impossible to tell. There is currently no way to rank the top fighters in heavyweight division. The young guns have not fought anyone to really tell where they are at.

Anyone remember Price?

the young guns (josh, wilder, parker, ortiz (very young)) beat stiverne (champ at that time), malik scott, dillian white, tony thompson, artur splika, bryant jennings, carlos takam, eric molina, basicly everybody in the top 20 except povetkin, fury, wlad and pulev.

pulev is a fat nobody and looked terrible in his last fight, josh by first roundko
haye is out
povetkin a cheat and ould maybe win to parker maybe not. but noth arent top 3 heavyweights. 1 ortiz 2 josh 3 wilder

Povetkin is not a cheat actually, Deontay Wilder just managed to find a few testers who failed to do proper job in time. That way Wilder managed to waste even more time. Povetkin did nothing wrong.
