Excellent domestic tussle,Gomez was superb that night,Arthur showed incredible bravery but Gomez just destroyed him in the end

Kostya Tszyu vs Zab Judah

Crazy fight,Judah in total control,rocked Tszyu in the 1st then got decked with a big right hand,did a Berbick dance when he got up then fell again,shouldn't laugh really but it was pretty funny

Watched kaylor v Christie the other night, entertaining fight and wasn't even for a title

Floyd Mayweather vs Arturo Gatti

The complete performance, the best performance of Mayweather's career IMO and he had a few flawless fights but against Gatti It was perfection,defence was beautiful, Gatti never landed a shot in 6 rounds and Mayweather just humiliated him,drilling him with left hook counters and right hands time and again and it was a relief to see Gatti's corner pull him out,

Quiroga- Barboa.

Not quite as amazing as the Akeem fight, but an excellent fight. Despite the frenetic pace there was a lot of skill and technique on display, why I love watching the little blokes quiroga at first glance is a straightforward windmill, but the more you watch him the more you see his little nuances, the variety of his head movement and good angles with his feet. He just cant crack an egg.

Shane Mosley vs Oscar De La Hoya 1+2

Both very closely contested fights especially the 1st,I thought Mosley deserved the win,he did a great job of countering De La Hoya as he kept ploughing forward,by the end Shane was controlling the centre of the ring and getting some heavy shots off,great last round too

Thought Oscar was robbed a little in the rematch,,he fought a totally different fight as the previous one and fought on the backfoot all night and landed solid throughout and Mosley looked a bit short of ideas,he did finish well but I thought De La Hoya should've got it

Hagler hearns. Great build up. Great first round. Then I felt Hitman was out on his feet. Not my favourite Hagler or Hearns fight. Not a fight I'd be compelled to watch numerous times like hearns Leonard and Leonard hagler.

Marvin Hagler vs Alan Minter

Destructive performance from Hagler to win the title,credit to Minter though he was outgunned but did try to fight fire with fire and had a bit of success when he switched lefty in the 2nd ,it was never gonna be enough to keep Hagler off though and Marvin ripped his face to pieces and the ref had no choice but to wave it off,disgraceful scenes at the end,maybe if the fans knew how good Hagler would go on to be,they would be more appreciative

Never in my lifetime watching boxing I have seen a boxer that went through so much to obtain the glory. It was a hard road for Marvelous, but, he persevered and got his crown. After fighting the top contenders that no middleweight wanted to fight, and going over 50 fights without a title shot, he got dicked by the judges in his first title shot versus Vito Antuofermo. A fight he clearly won. Well, this time, he wasn't gonna leave his fate in the judges hands but with his fists. Alan Minter paid for all the suffering of blood, sweat, sacrifice and tears in 3 rounds. With all the things that Minter said about him, and travelling to London, England to do it, his crowning moment was tarnished by the angry fans throwing bottles at him after his victory. Unbelievable! After 7 hard pro years in the ring and 50 plus fights, Marvelous is champion!

Toney - jirov

For some reason I remembered Toney knocking him out in the ninth. Not the case, this one goes the distance...barely. Toney, who had been ballooning up and down in weigh came in looking relatively trim. Jirov, the Kazac came in with plan A and stuck to it all night. Body work, pressure, punches and pressing, always pressing on the front foot. It was a valiant effort by Jirov yet the skill deficit, when compared to Toney was notably apparent. Toney remained calm and hurtful through the fight. It was Toney defense, his relaxed yet confident mentality that allowed him to remain the fresher of the two down the stretch when he perhaps wasn't the fittest of the two. After round 8 or so the fight became a grueling war with both men trading short inside punches. It reminded me of Micky wards fight with Emanuel Augustus or burton (the one mayweather fought). A cringeworthy encounter where jirov should have been knocked out cold but continued to fight on both feet. Toney the supremely skilled boxer showed his talent.
