so many guys from usbekistan had gold medals and looked incredible and would do much damage in lower ranks pros. cubans always look good. than this tall french guy tony joka. i mean overall so much talent, like always, anybody knows something if these gold medalists become pro and increase boxing quality.

one thing is for sure, the amount of talent from usbekistan, kazahkstand and russia is huge. ex soviet union countrys are basicly like the NEW usa, in terms of high amount of boxers with quality in boxing. golovkin, usyk, bertebiev, kovalev opened the door and now the rest follows the lead.

are they stupid, they could earn millioans as professional boxer but prefer retiring having earned 0 dollar as an amateur or maybe 20.000 for gold medal makes 0 sense

Wasn't there a Team USA kid, Stevenson or something, that Floyd Mayweather was interested in signing? *Just looked it up, Shakur Stevenson, Olympic silver, looks to be staying amateur for now (he is only 19).

MIchael Conlan signed with Top Rank and is making his pro debut in March (seems a long time away to me).

Like a lot of people I was quite impressed with Joshua Buatsi, who seems to be contemplating whether to turn pro now or not (he is 23).

Can't see Yoka doing much of anything if he decides to try to make it as a pro - looks vulnerable as all hell to me and I don't think he could get any further than Audley Harrison professionally (and likely wouldn't be paid even half what AH was over his career). Would be more interested if Filip Hrgović or Mihai Nistor were turning pro, though I don't know where either would be able to make money / a career unless they are willing to completely relocate their lives and start from scratch.

But I missed quite a lot of the games so I don't know any more than that.

Yoka's main problem is that he can't take the AIBA judges and their favouritism with him to the pro game.

He lost at least one fight in his world championship victory and lost two in the Summer in Rio when he "won" gold. If and when he goes pro, he'll get blasted out long before reaching the upper levels. He might be better off staying am.

Hrgovic looks the best bet for pro success out of the Rio super heavies.
