Why? Solis can't do any better than that, and they'd just rob him again. You apparently gotta knock out McDonnell to beat him.wesshaw1985 wrote:rematch...

Were you scoring it mate? How did you have it?gilgamesh wrote:Nokeithmoonhangover wrote:I didn't see all of it. Did McDonnell not deserve to win? He looked on it in the last few rounds.

thanks eddiehandsofstone wrote:115-114 McDonnell, had him sweeping the last 4 rounds to keep his title, pretty wide card from one judge,Solis started off like a whirlwind and tagged Jamie with some big shots,a few of the middle rounds he started off well but allowed McDonnell to outwork him to nick some of the rounds on my card,Solis did wobble McDonnell but not as much as Jamie wobbled him later on,Solis is a very good fighter and I think McDonnell did well to dig out the win,he really needs to start fights quicker though because that was a close call despite the scoring

One of the scorecards was 117-111 aswellgilgamesh wrote:McDonnell got the decision? He must be Eddie Hearn's little f*ck boy or something. That's the 2nd robbery I've seen him receive. He didn't beat Tomoki Kameda in that rematch either. This one was even more obvious.
Re: Round-By-Round - Jason Sosa (c) vs. Stephen Smith - November 12th 2016
I missed the 1st round, but I had the next 11 scored 7 rounds to 4 for Solis. All the fellas here tell me Solis took the 1st as well.keithmoonhangover wrote:Were you scoring it mate? I can't see a McD win at all....Solis was busting him up and being more effective in most of the rounds. Jamie's flicking jabs and little flurries shouldn't be scored that favoruably IMO.handsofstone wrote:115-114 McDonnell, had him sweeping the last 4 rounds to keep his title, pretty wide card from one judge,Solis started off like a whirlwind and tagged Jamie with some big shots,a few of the middle rounds he started off well but allowed McDonnell to outwork him to nick some of the rounds on my card,Solis did wobble McDonnell but not as much as Jamie wobbled him later on,Solis is a very good fighter and I think McDonnell did well to dig out the win,he really needs to start fights quicker though because that was a close call despite the scoring

That's true: we all knew Solis had won but none of us thought he'd get the decision.lefty wrote:The sad thing is; none of us are particularly surprised.

You saw Bellew and Smith get the memo for the last 2 rounds. In fairness it is daft having someones stable mate, and his mate commentating. But when even they give it to Solis you know something is up.crusader wrote:I can't even see how McD could've fairly won by any margin...maybe by giving 2x points for flicking jabs that miss?skanksta wrote:No problem with J McD nicking it by a round majority decision, but 117-112 ?!
Worse than AA vs Paul Smith that they made enough fuss about to get a rematch.

Matchroom at it again! Makes me sick seeing fighters jobbed out of wins and titles. Don't care where they are from. Fighters must be queuing up to sign for Matchroom.
Gifted title shots and then have to be knocked unconscious in order to lose.
Jokes aside its a disgrace really.
Johnny Nelson was honest, as were Smith and Bellew.

114:114 for me but 115:113 not impossible.

They start scoring rounds the other way when they shouldn't to try to make their overall cards seem normal.
Pathetic.

Re: Round-By-Round - Jason Sosa (c) vs. Stephen Smith - November 12th 2016
The rounds were close and Solis was landing maybe a higher % of punches thrown but I thought McDonnell landed some solid left hooks along with a busier workrate and put more on the end of his jab than he was earlier when he was flicking and missingcrusader wrote:I can't see a McD win at all....Solis was busting him up and being more effective in most of the rounds. Fury beating Klitschko was fantastic for the division, but it's kind of sad to see the title so fractured again so soon. Some great fights coming up though and some even greater fights in the very near future.
