Just rewatched this morning and scored it the following.

I can understand it being close but I can't see how Jamie won that fight and I've been a fan of his for years. Just didn't look as comfortable on the back foot as he used to.
That 117-111 card is absolutely vile and it's becoming common place in boxing now.

Eddie Hearn was an absolute disgrace for being dismissive of a rematch at the end. Even Johnny Nelson the ultimate sky man had McDonnell losing the fight. Yet when Linares beats Crolla clearly and Abaraham beats Paul smith clearly it's rematch this rematch that.

I had it 115-114 McDonnell, there was a round I gave even think it was the 5th,Solis had Jamie trapped on the ropes early in the round and landed some heavy shots but then McDonnell went on to outwork Solis the last 2 minutes and although he never landed the same quality of punches that Solis landed in the 1st 30 seconds I thought it evened itself outi,I was gonna go for Solis though, if I did I would've scored it a draw

Maybe Solis deserved the 2nd round to make it a draw.

Eddie Hearn was an absolute disgrace for being dismissive of a rematch at the end. Even Johnny Nelson the ultimate sky man had McDonnell losing the fight. Yet when Linares beats Crolla clearly and Abaraham beats Paul smith clearly it's rematch this rematch that.

McDonnell has to fight Warren next though doesn't he?

I'd like to see a rematch with Solis, but I'd prefer to see the Warren and Yamanaka fights first.

I scored it a draw. Could make a case for either guy getting the nod by a round since there were a couple of rounds that could have gone either way. I don't know where 117-111 comes from though. They must have been watching a different fight to the rest of us. It was kinda like the Burns vs Relikh fight where you could make a case for either guy winning by a round.

For me though there should definitely be a rematch.

This. What is going on?! This is not an isolated incident, and there seems to be at least one embarrassing scorecard on each Matchroom card in favour of a Matchroom fighter. Even Hearn was a bit embarrassed by that card. I personally had Solis shading it, but I was not surprised that they raised McDonnell's hand when it happened. I know this game is subjective, but there is no logic to those scores. Nobody anywhere can find a reason to justify that wide score.

Can you imagine the scorecard was 117-111 in favour of Solis? There would be absolute uproar, and there would be an investigation into the scoring.

they were close hard fights but I scored both for Jamie, second was a bit clearer than the first.

Well this is the problem, there is no central governing body, so in one aspect this is not a sport. It's an entertainment business. The amateur game is a sport, but this is more like theatre.
