That is very good... As long as you can recover your wind in 5 minutes... You don't want to run too hard -- you want to build gradually over the years.

A really outstanding time for any weight to do 5 miles is 30 minutes... You don't need to do that every day of course. You put in slow and easy days.

I ran 27:43 out of season on an icy course in 2004.

I think it's possible for anyone to run sub 30 minutes over 5 mile with the right training and advice.

A lot of guys can do under 30 minutes.. But a lot of guys, especially Heavyweights, will never do better than 40 minutes.. They kind of jog along and maybe do 6 or 7 miles, but very slow.. Wilder doesn't run at all and Toney ran like a turtle even when he was a Middleweight.. A boxer isn't trying to be a runner -- but I believe in it very much...

If you can run really hard for 30 minutes without gassing too much, you can really push the pace.. Most other guys cannot stay with you and you can really attack them hard in the late rounds of a 12 rounder -- if it goes half that long... Working a really big heavy bag really hard, and really digging into it with hooks and combinations until it sings, is another way to get the stamina going.

I think short term not everyone can run 30 mins for 5 miles, but long term, anyone has the physiological capacity to do so.

HW boxers trying to go 12 rounds in a ring, and not to focused on running, then the question becomes kinda irrelevant.

Wha..???? Check again. That's 6 minutes a mile for 5 miles. 5 X 6 = 30

Umm...ok...but he didn't say he ran 5 miles in 30 minutes...he said he ran it in the 32-33:300 range, which is around six and a half minute mile pace for five miles.
