After the way Lacy treated Robin Reid. His beat down was more than welcome last night - but I respect Lacy!!!

I just ALWAYS knew Joe was way tooooo much for him.

Making a post of "American hype" is doing one of two things: 1) Showing you have little idea to the reason behind a promoter, and are showing ignorance to something everyone in the game of boxing does.

or 2) Degrading Joe's win by saying Lacy wasn't that good. So that would make Joe's win not as substantial as it was.

You can't have it both ways, so please choose. Like I said, why would Lacy pay Shaw to go out and make him out to be a bum? Promoter are there to excentuate the good, and downplay the bad. Joe's best attributes are his chin and punching power, Evander is known for a great chin, Tyson great power, see the connection?...use common sense, it goes a long way.

Ready here's an answer you wanted DG.

Hype builds fights. Hype especially builds fights when the majority of audience is unknown to either half of the contest. How many english fans would've known about Lacy had he not pummeled Reid? Not many. Even so, how many truly knew about Lacy outside of that fight? Not many. Jeff put on a good display vs Reid, showing his punching power and his ability to take a hit. So, as a promoter, trying to sell the fight to people who may not be informed of your fighter, what do you do? You take his best attributes and put them out there for everyone to see. You hype those attributes by giving the most outlandish comments you can think of when asked. Jeff has a good chin and good power, who are two of the most popular American fighters known for either attribute...Evander for his chin and heart, Tyson for his KO power. So, you flip them into Lacy, and BAM, you have people who may not be familiar with Jeff wanting to see if it's true. What does that lead to? More people watching the fight, which leads to more money for the networks, which leads to a job well done by the promoter. That is why hype is done the way it is, sell the unknown.

Michael Grant had good power and boxing skills, but no chin or heart whatsoever. So why would you mention anything bad about your fighter when trying to sell them to the paying public? I question your business savvy.
