RIP Alex the destroyer Stewart

Post by evrenb »

I can't believe this. He was so young. Damn I grew up watching him....I remember his fight with Fernando Montes...with Joe Frazier doing some commentary. This is so sad.

Any other details on Stewart's death? Man, I remember when he arrived on the scene. Another Mac Foster banging everyone out of there.

I posted this on the current scene thread. Apparently the family are awaiting the outcome of the autopsy. He had been ill for a few months, getting progressively worse but nothing diagnosed it seems. He had some sort of seizure and died at home.

That's sad news...Alex was precisely the sort of guy who deserved a long, happy, peaceful and prosperous retirement.

Alex Stewart dead at 52

Post by Tuan_Jim »

I can't believe it, Alex Stewart at such a young age, dead of a blood clot on the lung. What a war he had with Foreman, and a couple of great punch ups with Holyfield and Moorer. Always a gentleman in all his interviews. Absolutely depressed by this news.
