Remember in 2000ish, when BBC put boxing on? You had John Inverdale annoying everyone.

I used to watch that on my portable telly at university.

Groves 6 up with 2 to go. It's going the distance as long as Gutkneckt's eye holds up.

Not that impressed with GG tonight.

I'm puzzled by Gutkneckt. If he can do 12 rounds like that at super-middle why did he spend the last 6 years at LH?

Eddy being bang average, and not having more than 7 rounds of stamina doesn't mean that Groves looked good. For the first 4 rounds Groves looked terrible, last 4 he looked alright against a 1-eyed guy who looked like he was coming down in weight and could only do 7 rounds at a decent pace. There was no killer instinct at all from Grove who was pedestrian when Gutknecht was looking buggered and fighting 1-eyed for 4 rounds.

Cos he kept getting hit there, doesn't change the fact Groves never showed the finishing instinct to try and finish him in the 4 rounds he was figthing with 1 eye, instead he fought at a pedestrian and comfortable pace and looked happy to go the distance rather than hunt a decisive finishing moment.

It makes me laugh when people quote a 2 time world title challenger bang average

Groves had a Fantastic jab , didn't crumble under pressure, lost 3 rounds max against an opponant that would give any decent SM a hard night .
some people are never happy

Good performance from GG. Although he couldn't finish a cup of tea. He really should have stopped Gutknecht in the last couple of rounds. Any pitter-patter flurry would have O'connor stepping in.

Groves vs. Chudinov for the WBA "Super" or Groves vs. Zeuge for the WBA "Regular" next, either will do.
Nice title fights for W@rren and B0xNati0n to pick up.
Does either man give Groves any trouble?
