2 Robberies of foreigners on the HBO PPV... a new low for the sport... I'm done with boxing after this farce!

I was watching the Darleys Perez - Maurice Hooker fight which immediately preceeded the main event. It seemed like the foreigner Perez won close to every round, yet the fight was ruled a draw. One judge even managed to score it 97-93 Hooker. A truly astonishingly bad scorecard to put in context British Feed Sky Sports had it 100-91 Perez (so that judge scored almost every round opposite), HBO also had Perez winning easily. Yet the fight is a draw. One of the worst robberies Ive seen in years of watching the sport. Hooker is American and tied to Roc Nation the promoter so that explains the robbery. Clearly, the decision was political and biased. There is no other explanation.

Then the main event. Ward gets put on his butt in round 2, Kovalev also outlands him significantly on compubox, Kovalev lands the harder more quality shots which is supposed to be the only criteria for judging a fight. HBO and Sky Sports both have Kovalev winning then the phony American judges give the fight to Ward. Obviously the fact that Ward is American and better connected explains the decision. More homecooking from the crooked American judges, gifting the fight to Ward because he is American and better connected than Kovalev.

AND ITS THE SAME STORY EVERY WEEK. SH1TTY DECISIONS EVERY WEEKEND. JUDGES ROBBING GUYS EVERY WEEKEND. Boxing is a dirty dirty sport.

You know after this I dont even give a sh1t about boxing anymore. Ive been a life long fan of the sport but theres only so much crap you want to take. It seems judges are more often phony and crooked than good. Everything is political in boxing nowadays.

I mean I've been watching boxing my whole life and there are literally hundreds of examples of sh1t decisions, usually against foreigners in the USA like tonight. Foreigners need to stop fighting in the USA... You will not get a decision. And as a boxing fan Ive come to expect robberies as the norm. Not any more tho.

Boxing is a dying sport and its sh1t. Im out, never following this sport again.

The problem with claiming you're a purist in a fight involving Ward is that he does the opposite to what purists are supposed to enjoy.

I only saw the main event - it was a fantastic and very close fight that could fairly be scored for either fighter.

I agree that boxing isn't what it should be and there are frequent robberies, but this wasn't one of them.

It was a far better fight and (IMO) better judged than Mayweather-Pacquiao. It's just a shame that fights like these are so few and far between.

They should have judged the fcuking fight on landed punches. Kov wins easy on that parameter. Removes the subjective element.

When Robert Byrd was named referee, I knew it was trouble for Kovalev... Ward got away with illegal head-work all night... It's illegal to come in with your noggin down like that.. Kovalev neutralized it for the most part, but Ward was allowed to charge with his head low all night.. Byrd and Bayless are the 2 most biased referees in Boxing...

Haven't seen this yet but I know I was concerned when there were 3 American judges and an American ref so the fact that there is a controversial decision is not surprising. One thing I have never liked about Ward is that he is too much of a homer. I'd like to see him in a big fight in Europe with nation-neutral officiating. Nonetheless, I'll reserve judgment until I see this in its entirety.

That decision tonight was purely political. Ward won cause he's American and is in tight with Roc Nation. The same reason Hooker got a draw when Perez beat him every round.

Really feel sorry for Perez he won that fight quite easily on my card.
Far as I'm concerned Hooker is now worth absolutely nothing as it's clear his people have the judges in his back pocket.
Congratulations Hooker you just got blacklisted and you will not be respected and most of your fights are now duds and your record is phoney.
I won't watch Hooker again or take his fights seriously he's finished.
