Absolutely the way he came back from early domination was brilliant but Kovalev stayed strong in the last few rounds and won the fight.

A draw would have made sense. But Ward took it over.

Nope, 7 rounds to Ward, 5 rounds to Kovalev = 114-113 Ward, which is exactly the same as the judges would have had it.
My math was off sorry there. But you're eyes were way far off as were the judges.
I had Kovalev clearly winning rounds 1, 2 and 10
Ward clearly winning rounds 7, 8, 11 and 12
Rounds 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9 for me could have gone either way. I gave Kovalev 4 and 6, I gave Ward 3, 5 and 9.

Ward clearly winning round 12? That was a Kovalev round for sure. Ward did nothing but run and hold for the majority of that round.

I'd like to see Ward face Stevenson, rematch Kovalev, face Golovkin at 168lbs and then retire, but the WBA is likely to force the American to fight Nathan Cleverley instead.

A challenger is supposed to take the fight from the champ. How do u do that by backing away all night and clinching and wrestling all night and getting knocked down in a round making that round 10-8 and looking like a bloody mess while the champ looks like new, and even their Punchstat numbers had K ahead in punches landed and power punches landed!?
What a fvckin sissy boy, if you are male at all.

x3 american judges really loved that illegal crabbing. Pathetic.
What were you watching? Krusher held by far more than Ward.
Ward intitiated most of the wrestling, Kovalev pulled him close to stop him holding and hitting.
You are blind. Krusher held him to avoid getting made mince meat. Krusher should have been warned about it.

You've got to be kidding.

But the fact we saw round 12 so differently, is why fights like this engender such disagreement.

I thought Kovalev fought a stupid fight. Didn't do nearly enough with his left hand or combinations. Everything was predicated on once again landing the straight right and he simply got out-dogged in this fight. I can't stand Ward but I think the right man won. Kov. only has himself to blame for following Ward around the ring and fighting in straight lines the entire night. Kov really is not a good inside fighter; Ward was beating him up on the inside.

The ppv buys will determine whether or not there will be rematch.
If the buyrate is low they won't have a second fight.

He won 12 based on what? I'm going to have to watch the fight again but from memory he was pressured and hit more often than he was able to hit Kovalev. He ran and held for most of the round.

Tying him up not "beating him up". I do agree with some things u said tho. When I was boxing I'd always keep that in my head not to follow a guy who wanted to run away, even tho that was the instinct. Tucker yourself out that way. Just stand there and wait for him to come to the middle of the ring and if he won't then the people can start booing and the ref can say, let's fight, boys, but it isn't your fault. Kovalev won. Their faces told the story. I saw two blatant robberies tonight.

I had Ward narrowly ahead for the first two minutes, but I thought Ward landed some pretty flush, hard shots at 1:07, 1:02, 0:56, 0:27, 0:06, and 0:01 and extended his lead.

Nonsense? Do u know what Las Vegas is? Do u know how LV was born in the desert, who built nit, who financed it. and who runs it - all those gigantic glitzy vulgar "gaming" palaces? Have u ever followed boxing and boxing refs and boxing judges in LV? Even tonight alone should have ducated u about what it is lV, that prelim and then the main event, LV boxing judges in all their glory!

Had Kovalev winning. Andre's in-fighting wasn't even that effective at times, and he damn near tackled Kovalev trying to tie him up on a couple occasions. Dre did better in the 2nd half of the fight but Kove dominated the first half and did well enough in the later rounds to make sure Andre didn't completely steal it. Overall, Kove landed more cleaner and effective punches and Andre simply didn't do enough to beat the champ.

Although I had Ward ahead by a bit in the first 2 minutes or so, he stole it with some extremely powerful punches in the last minute. I think it started with a powerful upstairs hook and continued with mostly some sick body work near the final 10-20 seconds. Also, watch it with the sound on so you can actually hear the sound that the punches are making.

Even if u wanted to call all the rounds except rd. 2 a draw, 10-8 rd two made it Kovalev's. But their faces told a better story.
