Will the American officials be fair to Kovalev when he fights Ward?

Robbery, EXACTLY what I expected.
Lederman's 116-111 score was correct, props to him.
Kellerman was a disgrace as usual, showering loving praise on Ward during the fight.
Byrd allowed Ward to clamp grapple and wrestle, and he was yelling at Kovalev every time Ward fouled.

I think Byrd did fine. The corrupt judges are the ones to blame.
Re: Will the American officials be fair to Kovalev when he fights Ward?
Russians are great people, but it's hard to disagree with what Diddy is saying. The country is effectively a mafia state. I struggle to believe how anyone could not see that.Freedom2013 wrote:You have been brainwashed by silly action movies where Russians are portrayed as bad guys.diddy wrote:This guy is seriously trying to convince there's no evidence of Russia being as corrupt as it gets? Yes, with the judges being fair to Kovalev by awarding the fight to Ward by only a one point margin.Jip wrote:u got your answer

Well I got the first part right!

Only a complete f*cking moron would not agree that Russia is essentially a mafia state. Any argument to the contrary is pure delusion or ignorance.TheDarkDestroyer wrote:Russians are great people, but it's hard to disagree with what Diddy is saying. Lederman always has a preference for the guy going forwards and throwing more punches, regardless of how effective he is. I thought he was overly generous to Kovalev, not because of any kind of bias, but because of how he sees fights. Kellerman, I thought, was excellent as per usual. The only time I've ever really disagreed with Kellerman was in the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight - I had it far closer than he did.Freedom2013 wrote:Robbery, EXACTLY what I expected.

All this is coming from a guy who wanted Kovalev to knock Ward out.

While a split decision may have been fairer, it's quite telling that in such a close fight, all three scorecards read the same. I think the referee and the judges all did a good job in this fight.
Re: Will the American officials be fair to Kovalev when he fights Ward?
We know about the nevada comission, this is not the first and it's not gonna be the last ROBBERY in boxing. Kovalev was too naive to fight a american fighter in the USA with all judges being american too.

People who follow Lederman's scoring model always think these types of fights are robberies.
Re: Will the American officials be fair to Kovalev when he fights Ward?
..don't think it's a robbery, but I've seen more than enough fights where the swing rounds seem to have been based on the charity-begins-at-home principle..still waiting for the stats...

Thot Kovalev won the fight but don't disagree with Ward either, very close fight, a lot of rounds hard to score n maybe in that respect the home fighter got the benefit.

America has been largely controlled by a nasty, hateful oligarchy who run the media and has people like you brainwashed.

And in Las Vegas in the bargain! Any foreign fighter that ever fights again in Las Vegas is crazy.
But they'll pay them the big bucks to go there and get robbed anyway won't they?
I would like to see a rematch evened out - in Grozny in Chechnya with all Russian judges and a Russian referee.
Re: Will the American officials be fair to Kovalev when he fights Ward?
...I don't know if you realise it or not, but you do rather a disservice to the russian boxing fans. The officiating was poor in Grozny last time and I hope it's not gonna happen again...x2x wrote: I would like to see a rematch evened out - in Grozny in Chechnya with all Russian judges and a Russian referee.

Seriously? They did a good job giving round 10 to Ward? What is an awful job then?BAD INTENTIONS wrote:My exact conclusion.jezzamundo wrote:While a split decision may have been fairer, it's quite telling that in such a close fight, all three scorecards read the same. In answer to the thread. No. But plenty of us saw this coming. A battle for P4P supremacy between a Russian and an American (an Olympic gold medalist no less) in the USA with 3 US judges and a US referee? Got to keep up the illusion of dominance somehow.

They made the wrong call in one round out of 12 - I think that's a pretty good job overall.boxing_rocks wrote:Seriously? They did a good job giving round 10 to Ward? No, they gave all close rounds to Ward plus the one he lost. They were clearly biased.jezzamundo wrote:They made the wrong call in one round out of 12 - I think that's a pretty good job overall.boxing_rocks wrote:Seriously? I disagree - the 3rd, 4th and 6th were all swing rounds they scored for Kovalev. Personally I thought Ward edged the 3rd.boxing_rocks wrote:No, they gave all close rounds to Ward plus the one he lost. The 5th, 9th and 12th were the close rounds scored for Ward. 10th round was a bad call, no question.
