Kovalev vs Ward that was a great fight

Post by victor-romeo »

Man that was a great fight. I totally disagree with the judges decision of the fight , but I understand it due to nationalism and thats just the way the world works.

Still the fight was good for boxing as it show cased two of the sports best performing at a high level. Ward fought well for being the smaller man coming up in weight to fight the larger Kovalev.

As for Kovalev the guy is total bad a$$ most people understand he won, and what great athlete the guy is totally mobile skilled wrecking machine. I am always impressed at Kovalev's foot speed and how he can fire on the move.

I hope they have a rematch, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't happen`. Ward looked like sh1t when he went back to the corner after the knock down.

I thought it was funny how Virgil Hunter would say Kovalev was getting tired to Ward, and Ward would be sweating grimacing, and then the camera would flash to Kovalev's corner he looked all relaxed.

or I loved when Ward did a bolo punch and got busted straight in the chops with a hard jab ,,that was funny.

All in all a great night for boxing, in a dismal year.

Last fight I bought was Canelo vs Mayweather, I regreted paying for that but not this fight.

Disagree, solid, dramatic fight. If I could unwatch it and get my money back I would.

Yes i'm glad you reminded me of the bolo punch Ward was trying to do then got his head rocked way back. That was great.
Ward never tried it again haha. I have so much respect for Kovalev after this fight, he took the crooked decision well, didn't run off and have a cry. Well done to him, he's the better man at light heavy.

Nothing of note and not enough to win.

Exactly the same could be said of Ward.

I would have had no problem with a draw or 114-113 Krusher.

Those two scores you said I would agree with. Yet, on the flip side and at the moment I cannot accept Ward winning by one point. Maybe that says something about me but F$%k it. It's done, the fights over, my opinion means nothing. I do want to see a rematch though.

I was so close to putting my money on Ward but was really worried about the Krusher and his big right hand i'm happy I did not bet on anyone one because it would have made my opinion a wallet or back pocket one the money would have become the sole adviser on who won the fight and that would have been unfair great boxing match something that did not suit Kovalev the rematch will be a notch or two above the first go bring it on :yay:

It was a very good fight and great for us [Boxing in general] regardless of the outcome.
I applaud both Sergey and Andre for coming to fight and entertaining us all they did a great job and didn't let the sport down in a very high profile event, I'm very proud of them well done guys. :TU:
