I've seen plenty of posters insisting how great Ward was and comparing him to Hopkins.
Well, Ward got hurt at least a dozen times this saturday.
And on each occasion, he immediately dipped head first for the clinch, or he would have been kod.
His defense is nowhere on the level of Hopkins.
Neither is his chin or offense.
He's just an incredibly boring, dirty fighter allowed to spoil in the pros because he won a gold medal.
He's not going to hang to his titles for long.
Betterbiev, Stevenson, GGG would all ko him. Kovalev would once more allow himself to get robbed, because his boxing IQ is rather limited.
Anyone still compares Ward to Hopkins?

Re: Anyone still compares Ward to Hopkins?
One difference is that Hopkins has kept himself lean, sometimes weighing in at 171-172 pounds. Ward looks overweight with a massive body on thin legs. He is so much slower now than he was in Super 6.
Re: Anyone still compares Ward to Hopkins?
I never thought he had a similar style to Hopkins. He's got a defensive minded approach which is one of the only similarity's between him and Hopkins for me.

More in common with Hatton than Hopkins.
