I have posted elsewhere, but I think the 3 judges were spot on. I had it 114 113 Ward, sitting in my games room.
Another poster on this site who i think was probably the best official judge in Australia had Ward also winning 114 113.

I had Ward 116-111. Although i didn't think he was going to survive for a bit there. Kovalev was definitely the more aggressive, but the crisper punches were landed by Ward. Kovalev suprised everyone with his speed and the commentators seemingly wanted to make out with him. But i think Ward won fair n' square. Regardless, it was a great fight, certainly warranting a rematch.

115/112 Ward you don't win a fight in the first 3 round's this is professional boxing.

Not the biggest robbery I have seen but I thought Kovalev dominated the first half of the fight winning 1,2,3,4 and 6 and Ward the 2nd half winning 7,8,10,12. Kov by 3 points for mine. but believe Ward will win the rematch as he figured Kov out and adjusted to fighting a top level fighter by the 2nd half of the fight.

No I gave him 4 one less then the 3 judge's in the first 3 round's The Krusher was dominant after that he wanted to out box the boxer and couldn't pull the trigger with his right hand and was made to miss badly he tired also down the stretch more so then Ward.

115-112 Kov

Giving him fewer than 5 rounds is nonsense, and only 3 rounds a joke. It seems to me that when you get a fighter with renowned technical skill, people often default them rounds if not much happens, as if the slow pace is evidence that they are succesfully employing some brilliant gameplan even if they're not.

Absolutely. I gave him 1, 2 and i think 7. I gave Ward the close rounds because of his crisper punching. Yes, Kovalev pressured and pressured. But after round 2, rarely landed with accuracy. I don't believe in giving fighters rounds simply pressuring. I think people that think Kovalev was "robbed", need to stop listening to the commentators and focus more on the fight.

9-3 Ward is terrible scoring, and suggests to me that someone had it built in pre-fight that he would be the much more effective boxer, and hence was biased in his favour.

Let's hope Lairdy isn't a judge!

It was great fight. Kovalev suprised me with his speed early, and his pure size. You haven't even put up how you scored the fight. Yet will bag me for how i scored it. I just believe the fighter that throws the crisper punches should get the close rounds... How did you score it big fella? I bet you scored it the exact way the judges did...

I'm not convinced of that most of Wards success was due to his grappling. If Kovalev gets a wrestling coach he could easily deal with awards grappling and make it completely ineffective by either throwing him down or away. Ward is constitsntly out of position grappling wise so it wouldn't be really hard to do.

So, I'm taking it you thought Kovalev won?... Did you watch the fight? Or just listen to the commentators?
