are here any ex or current boxers, managers, judges, promoters on this thread and can give light into the dark world of boxing politics.
very simple question: how does a robbery happen?
does the promoter who promotes the fight and who manages the hometown boxer give a text message and via 2-3 other people a secret message "let my hometown boxer win, no matter won, if its to obvious that he lost, make a draw out of it. in future you will get many more jobs as a judge in boxing if you do what i am asking you to do, thanks in forward".
the same with the reffery, secret message in a private secured chat or something:"my hometown boxer does like to box from outside and doesnt like his opponent being inside, to close to him. please dont let the not home town boxer box from inside and as soon as he comes close you break the fight and let them step back (mayweather-maidana 2)".
i mean serious, this can be the only reason, why those small robberys "kovalev-ward", the hands down obvious robbery like "sturm-hoya" or this poor latin guy from the kov ward undercard who won like every round against brooker, but got a draw, because brooker is with roc nation and roc nation had a lot of promotion going on in this fight.
How do boxing politics work?
Re: How do boxing politics work?
I heard from a reliable source that the judges are given prostitutes sometimes.

I think you're being childish! When you eventually grow some man-fur around your groin area, then perhaps you'll regret these words.Jip wrote:are here any ex or current boxers, managers, judges, promoters on this thread and can give light into the dark world of boxing politics.

you part of the problem?
Re: How do boxing politics work?
I think when those judges are in a situation where there are 2000 fans cheering for their boy and no one cheering for the away fighter, you get swayed/frightened to give anything to the away fighter. The situation of three neutrals scoring in a favoured cauldron is almost impossible. I think I can score neutral but I once sat behind a judge with a UK fighter fighting a Bulgarian. My Mrs who knows nothing about boxing or how to score said "well he (Bulgarian) obviously won" I scored it 98-92 for the Bulgarian. The judge in front of me who was a UK judge saw it for the home fighter, yet the Bulgarian battered him. NO OTHER PERSON IN THAT ARENA really cared, the UK fighter grabbed the title that was all that mattered. THE WIN.
It almost needs fights judged from TV with the sound off.

I know a little bit about amateurs boxing, 1980-1990 on Balkan. I has been told about envelopes, prostitutes, and gold. Yes, the majority of boxing judges has been extremely corrupted.RScarf1 wrote:I heard from a reliable source that the judges are given prostitutes sometimes.

but the thing is. boxing judges are proffesionals, they should know boxing. when you know boxing, it doesnt matter of 20 or 2000 people are cheering for somebody. when you are good at your job, your good at your job, simple.
