CANASTOTA, NY - NOVEMBER 17, 2016 - The International Boxing Hall of Fame will release the names of the Class of 2017 on Tuesday, December 6th at 1 p.m.

According to one Ryan Bivins of SB Nation these are possible candidates; does anyone know of a more official list?

Hard to take the HOF seriously when they've never put Don Elbaum in. Man worked for sixty years keeping boxing alive in every forgotten corner of the United States. He promoted tons of great fighters and even more not so great ones. He made heroes of local stars all over the USA. It's a crime he isn't in the HOF.

Holyfield and Barrera have to be locks; whoever else gets in from the Modern's will look bad in comparison. If the voters know boxing it would be someone like Rocky Lockridge. If people that don't know boxing, it will probably be someone like Dariusz Michalczewski.

Also, I hate their new categories. Actually, they are called the same as before, but it's all now completely ****ed up! Jack "Kid" Berg (active 1924-1945) in the "Modern" group - while Masao Ohba (active 1966-1973) is an "Oldtimer"! How does that make any sense??
