Quigg v Cayetano

Post by Josh1111 »

What do you all make of this? Seems to be a super bantam stepping up just like Quigg

Only a couple of fights away from Frampton/Santa Cruz if he comes through this, not bad really on such short notice

Think I'd have preferred a career Feather or somebody ranked.

I think more chance of him fighting Selby than Frampton

I don't think Hearn will mind which one he fights really, neither are part of his stable anymore with Selby being controlled by Haymon. Frampton fight can be forced through by going down the WBA route so will be easier to make

Its a fair enough fight as Quigg is coming off the broken jaw. I think Quigg is now a guy that Eddie would be happy to feed to a Selby or maybe even Warington. He would defiantly allow Him to fight on a PBC card if Haymon comes calling etc Scott doesn't sell tickets, and there is no way he will be involved in anymore PPV fights again so what can Hearn really do with him unless he beats a Selby?

Quigg and Tesco Joe always said they would fight Rigo "after the next fight".
Quigg claimed his comeback fight would be for a world title.

Better opponent than expected. Someone like Cayetano is fair enough for a comeback fight and for a first fight stepping up a division to see if he's suited for the weight, although a career featherweight would be a better option imo.

I read this guy went 12 with LSC. I didn't see the fight I don't think. Anyone see it?

Could have been a lot worse but nothing to get the blood pumping.

Quigg will still likely find himself in the Featherweight rankings after this.

Ten rounds

Pretty much every round was LSC marching forward and beating up Cayetano on the ropes, but the latter showed a good chin and caught the much bigger LSC with some decent shots in the exchanges. Cayetano's had some respectable wins since then, although at lower weights.

Shocking fight....Hearn and Quigg said no tune ups straight back into big fight, even potentially a world title fight and this is what we get?? He will always live in Framptons shadow and will never win a world title.

What I don't get is that Scott said he was moving up a,weight, so why is he fighting a guy from weight he just left behind?

Why not face someone who is a career featherweight, maybe gradovich? Or Eric hunter someone who is toward the top end but should be beatable.

I meant an opponent who has been at featherweight all his career. Not a guy who is also stepping up in weight.

Just think it will be a better test for if Quigg is suited to featherweight if he's going up against a guy who has been at that weight for longer rather than a guy moving up a division. If that makes sense.
