He's only called Benn, because his mother, who has the surname Andrews, chose to call him that and/or they've decided to cash in on the name - it's not like they were spouses.

I wish the lad well, but let's be clear, any pressure regarding his surname is utterly self induced.
Load of cobblers, there are many relationships that have bared children and the child has taken the dads name.
????

I don't disagree with your point, but it wasn't relevant to mine.
I think your post was wrong though, Loynesy. Not trying to start a row but the mum named him after the dad for a reason. We can only speculate on that reason (20 odd years ago). But even if he had the surname Andrews people would still know it was Nigel Benns son so who really cares?

The kid seems to think that Nige didn't care about him that much & Nigel's view is that he tried to make him a part of the family. They could both be right or wrong.

Any speculation on our part is just speculation.

I think every child has a right to be called after his father if the circumstances are fight, for example if he was born through a loving relationship then it seems the right theng to do. Even if it was a one night stand for another example the mother might have reasons for the child for him to be named after the father. Of course there are reasons why a mother might not want the fathers name, for example a rape child, or a child born from a father that has committed serious offences and would damage the child in several ways. I do not believe 20 years ago when the child was born the mother thought 'I can cash in here on the name Benn' 20 years later what has she made? Shes made nothing has she?

Poor kids prob hurting cos he didn't have the childhood Connor did. Not his fault. These swordsmen don't seem to see the damage it does to kids. Parenthood's about more than sending dough and putting old Polaroids on twitter. If he feels aggrieved there's got to be a reason, whether Nigel likes it or not. I like the kid and wish him well, prob felt like hes a sympathy vote his whole life.

And now his new best freind , is'nt using him, as his own answer to Eubanks , he genuinly feels that a lad with no ameteur experience , who walks into a gym to be a pro boxer , is good enough to sign to a 3 year contract , . The kid is being used .

Lets see how he is tonight then we can make judgements on how we think he will progress and how raw he is. Should be interesting.

I Wish the kid well,he's using the Benn name to his full advantage and I don't blame him. Some of the stuff I've read from him and his mother on Twitter about Nigel and indirectly Connor is abit disrespectful and unnecessary but there doing what they can to push him so crack on.

I vaguely remember his mum sold a story years ago about Nigel to the papers. I will check google and see if I can't find it, but I think he cheated on his Mrs (probably Connors Mum) with this one, fired one of his bombs and ran for the hills when she came calling with the pregnancy news.

Frank W clearly couldn't wait to get involved in this story hence given a kid with zero amature or boxing experience a 3 year contract of some description. He's also made him cheif support Tomorow night- I don't know maybe he's shifted aload of tickets but seems abit ridiculous.

Again, from the litter footage I have seen of him his footwork is terrible and his punches are slow, but obviously this was only training clips so hopefully I'm wrong. He's clearly no way near a middleweight either so I'm not sure thy he's making his debut there / looks more like a 147lb at the very most.

Eubanks bastard son Nathaniel Wilson is also on the card - fights at 140/147 so who knows, along with Connor in the future we could get a round robin Eubank v Benn's unwanted kids - I'm sure Frank would love to put those on BT.

Nigel has posted photos on his twitter page of him and Harley when he was younger basically saying its a lie that he wanted nothing to do with his son.

To be fair, Eubank Jr's not a boring fighter, I tend to ignore most of what fighters say anyway.
Im not suggesting he is boring but I dont like to hear constant drivel on twitter about themselves. Its almost like they are in love with themselves or feel they need to keep quoting famous quotes that they proberly dont understand.
:TU:

I make you right there mimmy. I can't stand it either. What's with all the photos of male lions or wolves, and quotes about being "leaders and not followers" seems to be the thing they all stick up on twitter or intsagram these days. Every young fighter does it now lol.

Corny as f__k!!

That aside, Harley Benn comes across very well. He seems like a nice feller.

I sent Harley a tweet saying "Chin up, Mate".

In hindsight that might not be a great idea.

I know he cheated on his long term girlfriend/wife and impregnated another woman. And has a son that feels agreived as he dotes on his other and supports him publicly. Its his life, I don't really judge, but for those reasons I don't hold him in the same esteem as I once did as is my choice. Hardly like its gonna bother or affect him, but its not unreasonable to view that as the behaviour of a kunthive.
