BOLTON boxing star Amir Khan has announced that his new £5 million banqueting hall will be up and running in six months.

The former world champion told fans on his Snapchat account that the work on the Washington Street venue is progressing well and also announced a host of businesses set to launch inside the premises — including his wife’s make-up firm.

Amir posted a picture of the Deane-based development on Snapchat, stating: “Six months to go. All glass front banqueting hall.”

He then reeled off the list of businesses set to open up inside, including FMK make-up shop — which will be run by his wife Faryal. According to Amir, popular British-Asian curry firm My Lahore will be launching a unit and there will also be space for Argeela Lounge — which is a bar, restaurant and shisha company.

I hope it all works out for Amir. The last thing I want is to read in a few years that Amir is millions in debt so needs to make a comeback.

You can see why he's not overly desperate in regards to the Brook fight.

This will likely be a disaster. Sports stars investing in businesses they know nothing about usually do.

Sportsman with a bit of of nous should just invest in property; the safest investment.

He's big in the UK, let alone the surrounding areas in Bolton. Banqueting Halls for Asian weddings are big here, so I think he'd do well. Also, MyLahores is huge in the UK

True i don't know much about that scene. But I would suggest he doesn't get too involved in the running and let's some clued up business guy to look after that side. Khan is hardly the sharpest tool in the box

Good luck to him, personally I wouldn't invest my money in property there, it's a shit part of town with little prospect of it gaining value unlike Mancester or Salford near by.

It will be booked out every weekends. I've noticed a lot springing up in Birmingham & surrounding areas over the last few years.

Big business Asian weddings.

I can see the headline now: 'Amir Khan makes ill-advised comeback to pay off health & safety fines!'
