I think the result is likely to make a mockery of that statement.

I'll be lumping money on a 1st or 2nd round KO. Bellew will be knocked cold by the first flush shot that lands.
For a long time I've rated Haye lower than most and Bellew higher than most.

Like I've said recently: "I still think that there is a good chance that Haye is a shadow of his former self. The only world level win that he's had in the last 6.5 years is against Chisora and how highly does anyone on here rate Chisora?".

Bellew is the WBC cruiserweight champion and isn't that much smaller than Haye. Haye was never a phenomenal heavyweight and he's not done anything decent in years.

I don't think that Haye is the monster that most people seem to think he is. Haye's fast and powerful, but there's a good chance that Bellew can stand up to it for longer than people think.

If Bellew can land a few times then old, inactive Haye could be in trouble, especially after the first few rounds.
Plus, when was the last time anyone came at Haye?

I think there's one thing that Bellew will do, and that is come at Haye like a crazy guy. Might force Haye into a different angle.

That said, I'd be extremely surprised if Haye doesn't get the KO inside 5 rounds.

Yeah but I can't wait an extra 2 minutes before I see it - it will be worth £17 to see it as it happens

Would Stevenson beat Haye at any stage of his career so far?

Haye has no heart for the game and is just coming for a few quid. Bellew will be terrified and coming for mckenzie masterclass part 2. Its not easy to stop a really negative fighter, as luis ortiz found recently.

Haye's best win at heavyweight is still Derek Chisora. Some people may say Valuev, but I watched a 100 year old Evander Holyfield beat him the fight before.

It would be nice to see Haye actually fight a legitimate top 10 heavyweight, because the last time he did he only won a couple of rounds.

I have zero interest in watching this and I don't think it will go past three rounds. Bellew doesn't have the ring smarts to keep away from Haye for long enough to turn the tables, he'll just try and trade with him. This is obviously the biggest payday out there for either of them at the moment and the risk / reward works for Haye so I can see why it's happening.

I wonder what weight Bellew will come in at, anything above 210 would be ridiculous...

So we have Bellew, who couldn't beat a moderate Nathan Cleverly at light heavy, taking on a man who was the best cruiser in the world, and one of the best in history, at heavyweight, likely at a 30 pound disadvantage? This has got see saw thriller written all over it.

What a sad state boxing is in if rubbish like this sells. What does that tell you of the boxing scene?

Bellew, as far as I understand it, is regarded as a bit of a joke by most .. and an idiot by all.
Haye has come from highly respected - to a fraud also.
So it's quite amazing this fight sells.

Good for them if they get the pay day; pity the fools who buy it though.

Bellew is retiring after this fight IMO

He's already achieved his dream at goodison a few months ago. This is just the retirement money.

I agree, at least he can retire as an "undefeated world champion AT cruiserweight" I can already hear it

Why not cash out again against Lebedev/Huck etc.?

If he beats Haye then cash in/out against Joshua.

You're missing one thing: Bellew probably gets beaten by at least 8 guys in his own division. He wouldn't have a chance against any top 50 heavyweight.

Got to say Bellew has played his cards well, he's gone from getting dropped at LH domestic level to starring in a rocky film, winning a world title at Goodison and getting a heavyweight big money fight, he must be like the cat that got the cream !
