Walters/Lomachenko
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
It was not a shutout. Loma was throwing very little more than glove shots in the first three rounds. He was just feeling him out, but I think Walters landed slightly more real punches in two of the first three rounds only because Loma was just getting timing down.
Walters just flatout quit. He is now rationalizing it

Re: Walters/Lomachenko
I feel sorry for anyone who had Lomo but dec. That's a pathetic tank job.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Lomachenko is right up there with GGG, Gonzalez, Kovalev, Ward, Crawford, Pacquiao.
They are the top seven active fighters IMO.
You can squabble about what order they're in.

Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Lomachenko is fantastic. Can't see anyone in that division beating him. Saying that, I don't want him to move up yet. There's some good fights to be made against Sosa, Pedrassa etc.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Just before the fight started when walters walked into the ring, he didn't look up for it at all, I think bunce mentioned that too, as soon as i saw that, I put money on stoppage at 2-1, was wondering when he was going to quit.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Loma-Sosa is probably next. Sosa has no chance.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
I agree, but I doubt anybody there can even come close. I think that he should go to 135 for Barthelemy, Flanagan or maybe Mikey.tigermoth87 wrote:Lomachenko is fantastic. I also agree that Loma was way out of Walters class but pretty much everyone felt that way going in.
Did not expect Walters to quit. Disappointing but to be honest he was going to get beaten sensless by 9 to 11.

Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Current Ward is at least a level below Lomachenko. Loma compensates a relative lack of power with speed, movement, volume, outstanding footwork, angles.Ian1973 wrote:Lomachenko is right up there with GGG, Gonzalez, Kovalev, Ward, Crawford, Pacquiao.

Ward's main tool is lowering opponent's output by clinching and running. Kovalev is also not on the same level with Loma.

Who have GGG, Crawford, and Roman fought at a P4P level? Not that I rank Loma above all them....Tanzio wrote:boxing_rocks wrote:Current Ward is at least a level below Lomachenko. I would put him top 10 though and rising. He has faced nobody near the level of Ward, Kovalev, Crawford, 3G, Chocolatito, Pac or Canelo. If he could be rated above any of those at the moment they would be Chocolatito and 3G. A year from now I could see him in the top four or higher.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Crawford has defeated better comp but not much. I rate Chocolatito and 3G over him because of their body of work but I could understand why some would put Loma above Roman and 3G.crusader wrote:Who have GGG, Crawford, and Roman fought at a P4P level? Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Lomo needs to go to 140 to find a real fight. Which is Crawford. The only reasonable opponents for him at 135 would be Mikey Garcia and maybe Rances Barthelemy. That's about it. The dudes at 130 have no shot.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
I agree. Loma literally toyed with Walters tonight. A bit disappointing but a pleasure watching such a wonderful talent operate.diddy wrote:Lomo needs to go to 140 to find a real fight. Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Walters is a disgrace; he should ask Orlando Cruz if he can borrow some of his high heels.

Can you imagine if Vasyl was around when floyd was 130 champ, what a matchup that would have been.
