Out of interest, what do you think of the lower weights? Seems a lot of people who dislike women boxing also seem to dislike the lil guys
I fit that description. Obviously enjoy the likes of Rigo, Loma, Frampton etc but in general lighter weights don't get me excited and I wouldn't watch two women fight by choice.

Very cool and very lovely. I think I am in love.

She came out swinging, well posed, accurate, good angles, nice to watch. She needs to relax a bit I think too tight in shoulders and not push it so hard. Opponent was not stellar but not exactly useless either, she knew what she was doing.

I will be following her development with interest. Its also an opportunity to get familiar with female boxing scene. I've already discovered few interesting fighters among Kopinskas former opponents like Oleksandra Sidorenko, who would be an interesting opponent for Taylor in the future.

Im not really into unskillful women boxing as the unskillful fights ive seen are a bit hard to watch. I bit like seeing 2 drunken women slug it out after 4 cans of special brew. I am still raw in terms of what ive seen with skillful women boxing as ive not seen a great deal due to tv coverage. I was looking forward to seeing Katie fight and was very impressed with her skills and speed. She looked very well prepared and fought a girl with plenty of experience. It was clear to see that even on her pro debut she was a league above her opponent.

I think the tide is going to turn pretty quickly now with tv coverage especially if local Leeds girl Nicola Adams makes her pro debut too.

Im going to be thinking there are going to be mixed boxing more regular on these big cards now which should be good to watch. Skillful boxing is better to watch than unskillful athletes that just stand and slug hoping for the best.

It was great to see a decent female boxer, well done Katie Taylor, great start.

I was impressed by Katie Taylor last night, she looks very skilled and very quick.
I was surprised that they didn't give her her debut on a bigger stage though, the Wembley card was a fairlylow key affair.
What did cross my mind is that she'll probably win a world title within the next twelve months, defend it a few times and then possibly get lured across into MMA. I have no idea if this is on her radar but with women's boxing not being particularly deep, is there's chance she could conquer everything there is to conquer and then decide to try something new?
I hope not, and with Clarissa Shields turning over and possibly Nicola Adams doing likewise, I hope they help move women's boxing forward and firmly place it on the map.

Another Eddie Hearn/SKY money maker, will be hyped beyond all doubt on SKY TV so in the end we will be pushing him to put her on PPV when she has a World Title fight

I can't stand watching women boxing, really spoiled the card for myself and small group watching it.

I can appreciate they train hard and are at a decent level and Katie is probably a lovely lass, but I'm not comfortable in watching women taking bodyshots and such, a big no no for me.

I'll be changing the channel when she comes on and like last night, probably won't switch back(just record and watch next day). Dreading her being on AJ's undercards, total buzzkill. Will she be on after Whyte v Chisora on the Dec 10th card? What a way to kill the atmosphere.

Do we really need women's boxing squeezed on to the cards as though it's the next big thing? I know it's a test at the moment but I really don't see the market for it to regular sky sports fans expecting to see a big fight at 9.30pm on a Saturday night.

Be a lot better if they just make a whole event of women's boxing and not spoil the men's cards.

A bit sexist, ScottDetonator.

When I'm not interested in some fighter or their career I just don't watch them. I don't call for them to not be allowed to spoil any show that I watch with their presence.

I feel somewhat naturally protective over women and don't like to see women getting hurt. English Eubank said something similar a while ago.

   You pompous fool.... Like my decision not to watch women's pro boxing has any bearing on women's future and 'hindering' them

So are you suggesting I need to watch women's boxing so as to improve women's lot? Does that mean I have to force myself to watch women's rugby, weightlifting, hot dog eating competitions so as not too hold them back?

You are either taken the piss, are a bored troll or so obsessed with doing and saying 'the right thing' according to the bizarre and contradictory so called liberal manual you have lost any common sense.

Jesus.... to suggest that not watching women's boxing mean I'm holding women back....

I can respect someone who dislikes women's boxing simply because he hates women, more than I can your take on things.

You are holding women back with your 'protective' attitude.

Ok mate..... if you're so bothered, instead of berating me for not watching women's boxing if you actually want to do something serious and stop women being held back, go to countries where woman don't have the same rights and campaign or at least protest outside of their embassy... rather than making yourself feel like a champion of women's rights by posting on a boxing forum and complain that another poster is 'holding women back' by not enjoying watching women hurt each other. (And I'm definitely not against women boxing, they should without a doubt have the same rights as men.... but it's my prerogative not to want to watch it.)

Good luck and please stop trolling me, you're wasting both of our precious hours!
