- Kally, it goes like this: you the idiot savant who can name every tree in the forest but can't see the forest but for all those trees bashing your noggin with every breeze.Kalan wrote: It's like Jesus Chavez quitting against Mayweather.. No reason to pull him out except that he was taking more punishment than he wanted to.. Chavez certainly wasn't swollen for busted up -- and neither was Walters..
In this case, you've been exposed 100% wrong, and to think you claim to be this trainer of record who supposedly has respect for honorable fighters...NOT! The crooked Ronnie Shields was hired for this single fight at the behest of Arum and it was HE who stopped the fight without even asking Chavez or his real trainer, Richard Lord who was still in his corner. Lord is a former boxer and Jesus' lifetime trainer and jumped in to light into Ronnieboy with a stream of abuse like he ain't never seen, sending him reeling for security for protection. Lederman and Foreman had Chavez ahead because TUE was running like Bambi on fire from a midget. He hadn't put a dent in Jesus until that 9th round when he found a hard combo that cause Jesus to blink. Jesus tore right back into him and had both his eyes cut, a very winnable fight but for the stink factor in boxing. It was going like the tragic Leavander Johnson fight Chavez later fought that affected Jesus deeply.
TUE had a lot of suspect stoppages like the Augustus fight and even his first title against Genero Hernandez who was easily holding his own.
I was out of my chair screaming with Lord when it happened, like watching a crooked DKing fight all over again. Manny was on the undercard and also robbed with a draw against a billy goat whose sole offense was butting Manny coming in. Got only one point deduction and the fight went to cards after 6 and three blind mice declared it technical draw. That card stunk as bad as Ward/Kov-Perez/Hooker. Boxing will never change any more than you can change. I wouldn't bother correcting you if Jesus wasn't one of the great blood and guts fighters of his era and deserves better than you running him in the ground.
Walters quit, he was clearly done, better that than another tragedy. Great, tough win for Loma, time to move on.
