It's a payday for Bellew, nothing more.
When he gets beat he will be back to CW take an easy fight or 2, take on the highest paying champion in a unification, lose and retire...

Re: Bellew marked up already from Haye
Couldn't there be potential repercussions for Haye for throwing and landing a punch at the first press conference?

Re: Bellew marked up already from Haye
Haye played a blinder at the presser.
Much to my enjoyment he spent most of it ripping into "the Eddie Hearn Show" at the presser, "here he comes apples and pears"
All the while Bellew sat there became irate that Haye is more interested in sticking it to Hearn & Matchroom than he was concerned by him.
Then to top it off he leaves one on Bellew in the face-off

Bellew is all bark and no bite, similair to a bully, same talk as Cleverly build up and he failed to back it up.cocobongo wrote:Bullyboy tactics the fella throwing the punch is the bullyboy surelyfreddydoesdallas wrote:Nah, it's all down to Bellew trying the bully boy act against someone who's seen it all beforeKiller Blow wrote:

This will go the same way. Stevens on was too agressive for him and Haye will be the same, same speed only much bigger.
Bellew is a tit and he's made money off the back of it, fair play to him...

Agreed, nothing would wind up Bellew worse than being overlooked.Ricky_ wrote:Haye played a blinder at the presser.

And Haye talked up the Joshua fight in the process.
Haye has mastered the craft of self promotion...
Re: Bellew marked up already from Haye
In my opinion, Haye has made a fool of himself today.
Seemed completely needless to rip into Hearn and Coldwell the way he did - and completely put me off him as a man.
Bellew and Haye can bicker away all they like, and that is pretty much all they did for the second half of the press conference
. They clearly cant stand each other, and that is why the fight has sold so well.
Whilst calling Bellew a bellend live on Sky Sports New is funny, you can clearly see that the interviewer explicitly told him not to, and was visibly angry at Haye for doing it. I am aware that this entirely hypothesis and conjecture, but that could impact that interviewers future prospects and projects at Sky, so if I was him I would be having strong words with the Haye camp to grow up for the next 4 months.
Rant aside, this presser has made this fight bigger in many peoples eyes, and has certainly made me more likely to buy the fight (media bitch - I know

Not really. bellew is a typical bully type of character it's just that he tried it with the wrong guy.cocobongo wrote:Bullyboy tactics the fella throwing the punch is the bullyboy surelyfreddydoesdallas wrote:Nah, it's all down to Bellew trying the bully boy act against someone who's seen it all beforeKiller Blow wrote:

Bellew has exceeded the expectations of many so far in his career. He's done well but just because I think he comes across as a tit doesn't make me a 'hater'. Both of them are tits
Re: Bellew marked up already from Haye
Give it a watch on youtube, was pretty funny, it would seem nothing irks Bellew more than being overlooked, and nothing irks Hearn more than being portrayed as some rich essex geezer working for daddy. 2 birds with 1 stone there for Haye.Counter-puncher wrote:Really? fantastic. Re: Bellew marked up already from Haye
Tony Bellew has done very very well indeed in his career. If he were able to keep his cool and not blurt out streams of nonsense when he is hyped up I imagine he would be a pretty popular guy. He always seems nice enough when you see him interviewed 'cold'.
Haye, however is a few dozen steps too far for Bellew.
I doubt there will be any repercussions from the scuffle, David did appear to throw a punch but it was initiated by Tony Bellew who pretty forcefully pushed Haye so I expect it will be viewed as tit for tat nonsense and Matchroom may be asked to improve security. It wasn't a well thought out manoeuvre from Bellew given what happened when Chisora tried to march on Haye and be intimidating.

Re: Bellew marked up already from Haye
Bellew got in Hayes face not the other way around.
and now hes trying to act the victim now he got a fist for his troubles.
Id say thats effected the outcome and Bellew knows now that Haye is definately coming to ko him.
If the presser and the build up was pretty non eventful then Haye may have got complacent, but not now. Haye will train hard and come to do a job on Bellew and Bellew knows that too now.

Re: Bellew marked up already from Haye
The Gloves Are Off will be funny.
Odds on that Bellew talks about being prepared to "dieeeeee in dat dare ring", screams "fooking rat" and throws a glass

Re: Bellew marked up already from Haye
Ok, it is all press conference B/S - but I think Haye has a couple of good points.... it was a little arm shot on the back foot as he was about to be held cos of the push. Bellew was "crying" a punch, which it was technically - but as Haye quite rightfully said, that is no indication of his power and if Bellew did feel it, then what will happen when he is throwing shots with evil intent.
I already think it is an easy nights work - but Haye won the press conference if you ask me.
