Saunders, Eubank Jr. reignite beef after two-year fight anniversary

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders couldn't resist a dig a Chris Eubank Jr. two years on from their clash at London's ExCel Arena.

Saunders won a tight split decision verdict on the night as both fighters put up their undefeated records, something Eubank Jr. hasn't since been able to live down.

Constant rumours of a rematch have followed the pair around, although Saunders won the world title since then as Eubank claimed a separate interim version.

Returning to action this weekend, Saunders battles Artur Akavov in Paisley, Scotland after paperwork delayed a higher-profile outing in Cardiff last weekend.

Saunders should worry about his own career.

Saddest thing about this is the reminder that neither of them has done anything worth talking about since that fight - when you think about how short a boxer's career actually is, two years is a criminal waste of time.

To be fair, I wouldn't say Saunders beating Andy Lee wasn't worth talking about.

I guess so, but the fact remains that their careers have stalled in alarming fashion in what should be their peak years.
