I think you could count a simple majority. So whoever has most 1s wins. If there is a a tie look at number of 2s an so on.

I'm not a fan of first past the post, at the moment that would make Hammer (who I voted for) the winner, despite the fact that 8 out of 12 voters had Duhaupas higher than him.

Ah well, funny topic in a few years.
It's not a lack of knowledge - it's a different opinion to your own.

I think it's very unlikely Haye is scared of Briggs. Briggs is just an unattractive opponent for Haye, because while Haye should be able to beat him, Briggs would always have a puncher's chance and has a pretty good chin too, so Haye may not be able to bomb him out early like he did his recent opponents. Briggs is fairly lowly regarded and losing to him would ruin Haye's reputation and money earning capability. The risk-reward ratio just isn't there. It's not fear, it's just a business decision.

That Hughie Fury is clearly better than Haye is, again, nothing more than your own opinion. Perhaps he's better, perhaps he's not, but there's nothing clear about it.
That's fear and it's common sense that Hughie is better
If that's what you define as fear, then fair enough, no more discussion needed.

If it's common sense that Hughie is better than Haye, then it should be pretty easy to explain - please try, because clearly I'm missing something.

Still it is most fair as thats what majority voted. Otherwise you could decide it by mean score, but then someone gets in who fewer people wanted. Or you can make a F1 system in which places will be awarded points, like:

1 - 8
2 - 5
3 - 3
2 - 2
1 - 1

and tally the sums.

1. Haye 2. Hammer 3. Duhaupas 4. Zhang 5. Ruiz. I haven't seen Zhang fight but I'll take a flier he's better than the woeful Ruiz.

Votes have been tallied. There was a three-way tie in preferential voting between Hammer, Duhaupas and Haye, so I opted for a head-to-head tally, where Johann Duhaupas was favoured over every other fighter, so he enters at #15.

Champion in Recess: Tyson Fury
1. Wladimir Klitschko
2. Alexander Povetkin
3. Deontay Wilder
4. Luis Ortiz
5. Kubrat Pulev
6. Joseph Parker
7. Anthony Joshua
8. Bryant Jennings
9. Carlos Takam
10. Vyacheslav Glazkov
11. Lucas Browne
12. Bermane Stiverne
13. Artur Szpilka
14. Dereck Chisora
15. Johann Duhaupas

Good choice. And if he loses against Takam he'll be removed anyway.

What happened to averaging the vote?

I've never averaged the vote in doing these rankings - I use the median vote in most topics, for this one I tried using preferential vote counting, but that came up with a three-way tie, so I went to head-to-head preferences. For the sake of curiosity, based on average vote, the result would have been the same:

1. Duhaupas 2.33
2. Hammer 2.47
3. Ruiz 2.8
4. Haye 3
5. Zhang 4.33
