‘Seven figure offer’ made for Chris Eubank Jnr to fight Billy Joe Saunders next year
PROMOTER allegedly yesterday claimed he made a ‘seven figure offer’ to Chris Eubank Jnr for a fight with WBO world middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders next year.
Saunders makes the maiden defence of his title this weekend against Artur Akavov in Scotland with a view to securing a big fight in the first half of 2017.
Eubank Jnr is yet to confirm his next move after walking away from a fight with Gennady Golovkin and pulling out of a Tommy Langford fight through injury.
After the two fighters – who clashed in 2014, with Saunders winning on points – engaged in a war of words, Warren revealed that a huge offer has recently been put to Eubank.
Warren and Saunders have both spoken about a potential fight with Gennady Golovkin as well as a Eubank Jnr rematch, though Golovkin is currently in talks to fight Danny Jacobs early next year.
This is not the first time Saunders’ side have claimed an offer was made to Eubank for a rematch, though the increased upside for Eubank due to the BT Sport deal makes this latest alleged offer more interesting.
However he is still aligned with Matchroom Boxing, who work with broadcast rival Sky Sports.

Getting neat by BJS does nothing for his career, this won't happen
Re: ‘Seven figure offer’ made for Chris Eubank Jnr to fight Billy Joe Saunders next year
Goes to show Billys carreer is going down the drain fast ,, fighting in sports centres against unworthy opponents ,, he needs Eubank to get back on track ,, Does Eubank need him . Only other thing Billy can do is grow a pair and actually make a real challenge to GGG
Re: ‘Seven figure offer’ made for Chris Eubank Jnr to fight Billy Joe Saunders next year
everyone slated eubank for turning down the ggg fight but BJS did the same and he's now fighting at paisley leisure centre, so who is the genius?

Well neither are.veriton wrote:everyone slated eubank for turning down the ggg fight but BJS did the same and he's now fighting at paisley leisure centre, so who is the genius?
At least BJS has someone who can get him fights no matter how crap they are.
Jr was begging Hearn for a fight in the AJ card in a couple of weeks. His dad has completely ruined his career
Last fought June and has nothing lined up.

Saunders has had 1 fight in the 2 years since hasn't he?Naandrew wrote:Well neither are.veriton wrote:everyone slated eubank for turning down the ggg fight but BJS did the same and he's now fighting at paisley leisure centre, so who is the genius?

Jnr has been injured supposedly. They need each other so it will happen eventually surely. Even if the unthinkable happens tomorrow night for Saunders.

I thought Frank said he didn't want to deal with the Eubanks again? A bit strange to offer seven figures to a guy who pulled out of his last show for an absurd reason.

BJS is in a tight spot, the biggest pay day out there with sensible risk is eubonkers jr. If BJS lost that we could see a money spinning deciding rubber.
If BJS goes and fights canelo ( likely mandated by WBO as canelo is 154 champ and moving up to 160) he can expect to fight away from home and be on the skinny end of the wedge money wise plus Frank won't have much pull vs golden boy and the canelo promotional machine.
Still I don't think eubonkers deserves a easy domestic money spinner, he's got a deal of making good to do after a career dominated by farcical events from the get go. I'd like to see him travel and earn some respect back by beating the likes of lemuix Curtis Stevens etc on the road.

The fight looks inevitable.
Realistically the money they get fighting each other isn't much different to Money they'd get fighting Canelo-GGG.
I'd be amazed if the rematch isn't done for BT next year. They have no other realistic options.

Well, hope it's better than their first fight.
Eubank looked really clueless the first half of the fight.
Saunders looked pretty puny late on.
Neither appeal to me in style or personality.

This. I have a hard time believing this "7 figures offer" is economically viable for these 2. Yawn.

Eubank Jr is turning down fights & then spending his life on social media arguing with opponents that he should be fighting!
Neither of them come out of their respective ducking of Golovkin very well, so I think the word genius is not warranted.
