Why do we want to see Conor in a fight with a defence boxer?

Post by Jip »

i mean the media are all hyping up mayweather-mcgregor, like everybody all of the sudden forgot the boring may-pac fight.

so, media and stupid people realy want to see a boxer with 0 pro experience fight the arguably best defensive boxer ever, where conor would touch floyd 0 times in 12 boring rounds, where floyd would move more than he did in the boring guerrero fight, just running to an ud win, is this what you want?

i mean, conor got the hype and even so he is a mma fighter and no boxer, yet the man has a good punch and has some descent footwork. but if you realy want a circus fight, which would at least be entertaining and action packed for the fans, than lets hype thurman-mcgregor or canelo-mcgregor.

Floyd for whatever reason has star power. Stars fighting Stars makes money. There are hundreds of fighters more exciting than Floyd that aren't even a fraction as recognizable as him. Doesn't always make sense, but that's the way it goes.

you totaly right. star power makes dollar. but pacquiao, canelo arent nobody either and these guys vs conor would actualy be entertaining fights. but true, $ comes first in a lot of people minds. not me, i would get much more hyped up for canelo mcgregor war, than floyd doing a marathon easy ud against conor.

Floyd is a bigger star than Manny & canelo combined. McGregor is bigger than those two as well. Not that I think he will be boxing anyone, nor do I want him to.

Conor vs Canelo would be more interesting. I figure Conor would want to Box as a Jr. Middleweight or so as well, he didn't defend his Featherweight belt in the UFC, and the Welterweight division is only 2 pounds higher than that. So I figure if he were to box it'd be at 154.

I mean I'd watch if Conor boxed, but if he never did I wouldn't care, and I don't think we'd be missing out on much.

I wouldn't even pull up a stream for any of those fights.

Conor isn't even a quarter of a boxer that Pacquiao is. Floyd would probably give Conor a Gatti style beatdown even at this point.

Any top-100 boxer in his weight division will completely destroy Conor McGregor. Conor will look like complete bum in the boxing ring.

No doubt. He's very tough, but the degree of mismatch would have his face a mask of blood in quick order. he would need a super aggressive fighter to have a chance. His counter left and power are absolutely world class.

That is why while I do believe that FMJ would defeat him McG definitely would have a chance. If he could get FMJ on the ropes anything could happen.

No chance. I guess, technically, if Floyd took some downers before the fight and wasn't paying attention, he could get caught. But, a prepared Floyd is not getting caught by Conor. No way man.

Why not?

What wrong with you guys?
Floyd has proven he is above this generation of fighters.
Makes no sense to have him stick around simply to get beaten.

This fight is interesting to me for the spectacle.
It's like watching Wrestlemania.
What wrong with that?

You guys are just mad because you know Floyd is gonna f uck this boy up.
If it were an MMA match, you'd all be for it.

Conor would gas in 5 rounds.

Put him in an MMA fight and he'd kick Floyd's ass. In a boxing match, Floyd wiN's easily.

Its like asking Cristiano Ronaldo to take up rugby and expecting him to succeed.

Because people prefer fights with big build-ups, full of trash talking, where the fighting styles may not necessarily gel, as opposed to watching interesting clashes such as such as Frampton Vs Santa Cruz or Crawford Vs Postol

when you call losses (castillo), close fight some even say draws or losses (maidana) and u need advantage from the ref, to let your opponent not do what he does best, in this case inside boxing (maidana 2) and a lot of running around (pacquiao), if you call that above this generation, than i dont know what 'above means. i thought 'above is when you are clearly the best boxer regardless of weight and dominate everybody, like jones in the 90's, thats above the generation.
