Could actually be decent, but he'd need to be much healthier than in his last fight.

Hope he's getting a nice few bob, 'cos he's going to get battered if he gets in the ring with wilder.

So Wilder is going to have another voluntary before Stiverne/Povetkin?

Wilder is healthy now, and Povetkin-Stivern hasn't happened yet, he can easilly get in one in between now and Povetkin.

I agree.

I'd been hearing with Haye out of the way - fighting Bellew in March - that Hughie might get the winner of Parker vs Ruiz for the WBO title.

Wilder going after the low hanging fruit again.

I quite like Hughie but he's 2 or 3 years away from world title level at the moment.

Wilder should be ashamed actually for wanting fights against the likes of Hughie rather than any of the major fighters in the division.

Wilder actually wanted this fight already, even before the Tyson Klitschko fight, when Hughie was still 19 or 20 years old. Somehow Wilder didn't dare to give him 8 weeks time back then. Not sure why he does accept that nowadays.

Actualy wanting these fights just shows. Regardless of how good he is, which we don't know yet because he won't test himself, That mentaly he is fragile and lacks confidence ... The man will travel to put it on a retard in a gym .. Grantes said retard bothered him , and made comments on social media , but heh , he's a worrld champ ,, or version of one at least , he should be above these things ,, but no he seeks out the retard and bashes him in the gym .

Actuall the fact that the retard , was half his size and willing to put the gloves on and go with him , just shows the retard had more courage ,, Anyway , if Hughie can put it on him ,, he will crumble like most bullies do .

I'll believe this when I see it - he's already turned down the Joshua fight.

Seems odd given the Fury camp have stated recently that Hughie was too ill to compete at a genuinely high level and that he will need to be gradually moved through the ranks. This seems eminently sensible given his age and level of opposition.

Hard to see anything other than a pretty straightforward beating if he jumps straight from a near year off to Wilder.

That was because they were going to pay him stupidly little.

I don't know the figures but I'm guessing it was far more than he's earned in his career.

I just don't believe all the hype about Hughie. His father claimed he was going to be the youngest ever world heavyweight champion yet in reality he has turned down a British title fight and a world title fight.

doubling, tripling, quadrupling a small amount still gives you a pretty small amount.
Hughie had a price for taking the AJ fight, Hearn didn't want to match it or come close to it so he declined the fight.
To simply accept whatever he is offered, just because its more than hes earned before, isn't very smart business...

What the hell are you rambling on about? Are you talking about when Wilder confronted Charlie Zelenoff? The guy that was trolling him online for years, directing racial abuse to him and directing comments to his daughter? You don't think the guy got what was coming to him? If anything Wilder should be commended for teaching this guy a valuable lesson. Just a shame he didn't dish out a little more punishment.

It's not like he was only an asshole to Wilder either. The guy sucker punched a 59 year old Floyd Mayweather Snr, and attacked Kid Thunder after pulling out of a boxing match with him at the last moment.

I don’t think he got “what was coming to him”. Coneye is right - when you put it like that, Wilder made a complete bully and a c*nt of himself. As others have suggested, he’s quite fortunate to not be doing porridge.

What do you mean , a shame he didn’t dish out “a little more punishment”? What - like confine him to a wheelchair? Think on, pal.

Agree. Meant to add....I also don’t think Fury is without a chance. If he can stick him and move, Wilder is doable. I’ve seen a couple of comments suggesting Wilder will knock him around like a rag-doll. Possible, but unlikely in my eyes. It’s called boxing for a reason...

Have people suddenly forgot what an asshole Charlie Zelenoff is? This is him sucker punching a 59 year old Floyd Snr.

He also tried to sucker punch Wilder.

What absolute tosh, cyber bullying is a very relevant form of bullying. Completely unnecessary abuse, which included death threats. Such a coward to direct abuse from behind his computer, as is the case with all other trolls. If I was in Wilder's shoes I'd do the exact same thing. I sincerely hope he thinks twice about doing the same thing again. Such a piece of garbage.

No matter how much Charlie Z may have had it coming, a heavyweight champion can't go around hitting people outside the ring, especially people who may be mentally ill.
