WA State title reduced to promoters title!

Post by AntonS »

Sharp vs Morrison was on this show http://boxrec.com/show/743606 scheduled for vacant WA State super middle title.
Upon seeking confirmation regarding their weight, was informed by WA Commission it had ditched control of the title late last year....leaving it in hands of local promoters?? :o
In that case, IMO Boxrec shouldn't recognize & record them.

Did both fighters make 76.2kg? I see it was fought over 8 rounds. What was the problem?

Sharp 79 & Morrison slightly over at 76.3 naturally he could've reduced it, but why bother?
According to weigh-in paperwork, Morrison jumped on the scales at 6:20pm followed by Sharp 2 minutes later. Neither request time to reduce weight.

BTW, in NSW, Victoria, SA & naturally Qld, State titles are controlled by local ANBF Branches. There's no ANBF in WA.....there was in 90's
Maybe Angelo Hyder should resuscitate it, make himself El Presidente & ditch his Nitro title crap?

I don't think the ANBF will ever take off here in WA. I tried a few years back, there was no real interest.
Apart from supervising the Aus title and state titles its not needed when theres a government comission.
