Thank god. 2017 is definitely shaping up to be better than this year. Hopefully the WBA does something about their Heavyweight title soon. I know it was supposed to be Briggs vs. Browne but with Browne failing another drug test who knows that they'll do now. Maybe we'll get Briggs vs. Pulev since Pulev just won one of WBA's minor titles

Except there is a good chance that a losing side of the purse bid won't fight ...

What is with Cubans and disastrous career mismanagement? Rigondeaux fighting his first non-tomato in 2 years.

There must be some sort of calculation involved. Might be due to how much the organisation wants, sanctioning fees etc. God knows.

"Tom Loeffler expects to finalize Golovkin-Jacobs this week"

The purse bid for this fight is the 19th December, with Loeffler conceding that it’s better for all parties that a deal be reached. However, the K2 boss has made similar statements before about this fight and nothing productive materialised.

If the GGG-Jacobs fight does get made, Golovkin will be facing the highest rated middleweight opponent of his entire career.
