Joshua would be too much for him, but I feel he would be able to beat Chisora, Whyte, Martin, H. Fury, Price...even Ustinov and Pulev.......Still, he has got an excellent punch power...

I don't know why it's assumed Martin is worse than Price. They both suck.punchoutsb wrote:His speed is worse than Hay'es though...as is his conditioning...and just about everything else. Martin beats him up and Price probably knocks him out, although big Dave is so fragile I still couldn't rule out this ancient version of Briggs.

They do. Dave has some skill and real power, he lacks confidence and a chin...he's also stiff as a board. But Martin doesn't even know how to throw a proper punch. He's abysmal.gilgamesh wrote:I don't know why it's assumed Martin is worse than Price. Briggs, now (December 2016), my opinion :
Skills : 6/10
Stamina : 2/10
Chin : 7/10
Heart : 9/10
Punch power : 10/10

I doubt it'd take much to convince him to quit these days so I figure you're overestimating his heart.ValMar wrote:Briggs, now (December 2016), my opinion :

I really believe he is willing to face the best current HWs. Of course, he is looking for a pay-day, but I think he deserved that.gilgamesh wrote:I doubt it'd take much to convince him to quit these days so I figure you're overestimating his heart.ValMar wrote:Briggs, now (December 2016), my opinion :

Really? Luis Ortiz jumped in the ring and called him out like 3 years ago, and Briggs basically bitched out right in front of him "It don't make no sense"...you could tell he was immediately thinking "Oh no...not somebody dangerous that won't make me much money, that's the last thing I need"ValMar wrote:I really believe he is willing to face the best current HWs. Great post.Enlightened-One wrote:Wladimir Klitschko didn’t want to face Briggs because the American wasn’t even world-rated. Deontay Wilder cited the very same reasons.
David Haye says he didn’t want to face Shannon because the American expected mega-money, requiring a PPV for funding. The Brit also has better options, such as the Bellew fight and a shot at the WBO title.
So now Briggs is chasing Joshua, who himself has far bigger fish to fry, yet a few people that use this forum will inevitably insist that the IBF champ is ducking The Cannon.
Whilst it’s really good to have big personalities in this sport, with Briggs portraying himself as a very funny and likeable guy, what on earth has he achieved inside the ring to deserve fights against the names mentioned above?
Shannon “Let’s go champ!” Briggs hasn’t defeated a top thirty world-rated opponent for almost a decade and yet his sense of entitlement is astonishing!
I honestly haven’t got a clue as to the reason why the WBA have decided to award him a top five rating at heavyweight.
Briggs is a borderline nutcase. I am looking forward to someone to knock him into retirement.
Re: Shannon Briggs HIJACKS Antony Joshua Press Conference
Briggs is shot, but he is not a fool. Ortiz would destroy him, and it wouldn't be a lucrative fight. Joshua/Haye/Fury/Klitschko match would make a lot of money.gilgamesh wrote:Really? He's really not a nutcase. He's a past his best boxer trying to line up the most money without risking anything before hand. Nothing at all nutty about that.tiny_acres wrote:Great post.Enlightened-One wrote:Wladimir Klitschko didn’t want to face Briggs because the American wasn’t even world-rated. By boxrec, Briggs is currently ranked higher as Hughie Fury, Arreola, Mansour, Wach, Gjergjaj, Chambers, Pianeta, Gary Cornish and name them. Then why do all those so named top contenders avoid him and fight all the other, lower ranked guys?
There's only one reason for that and that's fear. Wilder and Daffy are simply obviously scared of Briggs.
Just like now Pulev, he has Samuel Peter on his resume, a former world champion, doesn't matter when he fought him, or if he was shot, the fact that the name is there, it makes the resume more appealing.

Wilder and Daffy are clearly avoiding Briggs and fight lower ranked guys, that are obviously less powerfull instead.Tony1244 wrote:asdfjkl wrote:I hear people saying Briggs is a bum and similar things, but if he's that easy to beat, then why does everyone avoid him?

Are you being serious? No one is avoiding Briggs. Shannon is now a sad joke.
Re: Shannon Briggs HIJACKS Antony Joshua Press Conference
See how many people are posting about Briggsy. He must be doing something right. He just needs to organise something now
Re: Shannon Briggs HIJACKS Antony Joshua Press Conference
Why couldn't he? He's not as old as Briggs. He can take a shot so he'd in all likelihood survive 2 rounds, he can crack. At the very least it'd be a 50/50 fight. Briggs is shot dude. Shot fighters aren't guaranteed winners over much of anybody with the slightest of a pulse.asdfjkl wrote:gilgamesh wrote:Samuel Peter in all likelihood would beat Briggs too.Ruthless-RKO wrote:

Peter is shot and even when he wasn't he was obviously no match for the top contenders. Holyfield was 46 when he clearly showed a better performance against Valuev as Daffy did in his prime. The judges might suggest else, but reality is that age doesn't matter that much.gilgamesh wrote:Why couldn't he? He's not as old as Briggs. Re: Shannon Briggs HIJACKS Antony Joshua Press Conference
Pretty respectful actually. David Haye will probably be at the fight in a couple days. That's where it's gonna get interesting lol. Briggs seems to respect Joshua but he's out for Haye's blood haha
Re: Shannon Briggs HIJACKS Antony Joshua Press Conference
I kind of hope Briggs gets a big paying fight. Not because I think he deserves it; purely because I admire his determination and self promotion. Also his story was pretty touching about how he got really fat and was gonna kill himself. That's where all the "let's go champ" crap comes from. It's basically affirmations and him trying to pump himself.
His interview with Joe Rogan was pretty interesting.

This is the fight I'm talking about, but you're right I don't think it's Luis Ortiz that got in the ring and called him out. I'm not 100% sure who this guy is that got in the ring and called him out off hand, for some reason I thought it was Luis Ortiz. My bad. Here's the event in question though so you know what I'm talking about.asdfjkl wrote:Could you show me anything like this? Why the hell would Wilder fight anyone he ever fought after Stiverne? He only fought guys Briggs would probably beat easely as well. Though I'd agree Wilder's choices of opponents as a "Champion" have been laughable.
