Arreola, Szpilka, and Duhaupas all would beat Briggs.

Though I'd agree Wilder's choices of opponents as a "Champion" have been laughable.
Well, let any of them show it? And note that Szpilka and Duhaupas clearly improved since their Wilder fight.
Duhaupas has improved, perhaps. Szpilka hasn't fought since Wilder and IMO was never that good and gave a career-best performance against Wilder, so I'm not sure where you get that from.

Look at his instagram, he's in way better shape right now compared to what he was back then.

Szpilka hasn't fought since then and Duhaupas' weaker of his 2 wins since losing to Wilder, Nascimneto is much better than anyone Briggs has fought in about a century.

Briggs had a great opportunity to change boxing history (against Lewis, of course). He had failed, but his performance in the first and second round was impressive, he needed just a little bit of luck.
So, I think he deserved proper pay-day before retirement. Best wishes, champ ! :TU:

What part of Briggs won't fight them do you not understand? Any of those guys would jump at the chance to fight Briggs, but I guarantee you Briggs wouldn't consider any of them because they're not good paydays, and he'd lose to 'em.

He's gotten quite a few paydays since the Lennox Lewis fight. The last time he got a big payday he lost a large portion of his check to the money had to spend on medical treatment after spending weeks in Intensive Care.

Gilgamesh, you are obviously a witty person, but try not to be so cruel.

I'm not cruel. I ain't the one that put Briggs in Intensive Care, in fact I'm sure if I were to tangle with him I'd be the one going to the Emergency Room

I'd say bullshit. None of them ever offered anything and I very much doubt it will ever happen.

None of them are in a position to be offering anything. They fight who their managers give 'em to fight.

Perhaps it would have been better to have said that Szpilka has gotten into better shape (which may not actually be true, as looking leaner and more defined doesn't necessarily equate to better conditioning.

Briggs is too dangerous for Joshua. Joshua will go after a lower hanging fruit like David Price instead.

:witzend: Briggs was practically beaten to death the last time he fought anybody world class, back in 2010, and even then was considered old. He's so old he fought George Foreman! I can't stand it. Make him go away.
