Ran out of time because of the number of earlier bouts that went the distance. Shame, really.

Arse. Was looking forward to that one. Needs to get in the ring soon, been a bit inactive of late.

What is the deal with Smith? Is inactivity hampering him or when is he going to be stepped up? I remember seeing him on an undercard a while back and was impressed, think he has amateur pedigree too. Commonwealth silver or something?

Former aba champion isn't he and probably the best scouse propsect in boxing. I know he's with a different trainer now not sure if he had a spat with allegedly over Billy Graham doing his corner wouldn't surprise me though as he hasn't fought since the Harrison Brodie undercard. He's fought Howard Clarke three times in 14 fights :o definitely needs to step up opposition but at the moment a fight against anybody would do.

Not sure about the best. Deryy Matthews is giving him a run for his money.

It was reported in the Liverpool Echo that basically Smith was given a choice; either be a SN fighter or be trained by Graham but not both. He is now being trained by an old amateur trainer (George Reynolds?). He has also just bought a house in Warrington apparently so I would of thought he needs the money right now. Then again he was probably paid for not fighting on Saturday.

Paul Smith TKO4 Hussien Osman.

Read in the Liverpool Echo that this fight was to be part of the televised undercard for the Lockett fight. But what did we get? 10 seconds of action, and a snippet of an interview. Bah!

The fight was shown in full here. Smith was on top in the first 2 rounds while Osman won the 3rd round.

Yeah, I was ringside for that un. Smith was making hard work of Osman, and was fortunate he pulled the TKO out of the bag. The result sounds better than his performance if you know what I mean.
Good learning for him though.

Exactly the type pf fight he needs. 15 fights and Osman is his best win, FW needs to start stepping up his opponents, hes better than this.

The Osman fight was a good match for Smith...about 5 fights ago and last year!

Smith's inactivity really annoys me.

The move away from Graham's camp may be a relief to Paul - I heard that he used to struggle badly with Macklin in sparring.

Still, what I have seen of him on the pro ring I like he looks an excellent prospect and is about due a step up fight now to see what he is made of.

Judging by the way he struggled with Osman, until the stoppage I think he needs a few more like this before he steps up. Consolidate the fundemants before progressing, to ensure his future performances don't fall short.
