What's up with Spence vs Brook?
Why did it go silent? Are Hearn and Haymon working out a deal to get Brook to vacate to Brook can beat a patsy for the vacant belt? Then give Brook an easy belt at 154 to play with - Because we KNOW Haymon has a lot invested in Spence as a future star and Brook would probably wipe him out and wreck all the plans - The silence of Spence (mandatory) vs Brook is not a good sign - Hope these suspicions are wrong and they do make this very good fight

Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
Joshua was supposed to fight Parker (mandatory) but conveniently Hearn and Haymon got a Fury belt to vacate to lure Parker away from Joshua - You know Joshua's contollers did not want to risk all their big plan for Joshua against the high risk Parker - so now Joshua is free to beat up a recycled punch bag patsy molina - will Joshua vs Parker ever happen? Not likely -
Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
Maybe they will both get sparked this weekend. Then we can look forward to WKlit v Molinamontrealsuper wrote:Joshua was supposed to fight Parker (mandatory) but conveniently Hearn and Haymon got a Fury belt to vacate to lure Parker away from Joshua - You know Joshua's contollers did not want to risk all their big plan for Joshua against the high risk Parker - so now Joshua is free to beat up a recycled punch bag patsy molina - will Joshua vs Parker ever happen? Joshua to win easy (molina is a patsy) - Parker actually is in a real fight with Ruiz - Parker said they sparred years ago and Ruiz chased him out of the ring -
Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
Brook has got a medical certificate which allows him to delay the mandatory for a few months I believe.

A broken eye socket? I'd probably let him away with that one.lefty wrote:Brook has got a medical certificate which allows him to delay the mandatory for a few months I believe.

Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
In terms of cred it will only buy juice should Spence fight someone before, that buys Brook some room to recover and perhaps have a later card with them both on.
But Spence has to fight someone.
Brook won't give up the minor cred he got from GGG that easily.

Spence is far from silent about brook! And more to the point he beats brook hands down either in the USA or England! Brook is the one shitting his pants, he's trying desperately to fight Khan or pacquiao than spence, that says it all.
Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
All "that says" is that Team Brook understands that a fight with Khan or Pac is far more financially lucrative than a Spence fight. In the know 85 wrote:montrealsuper wrote:Why did it go silent? More I really don't want to fight spence, and have a better chance with the other 2! For argument's sake, if the purse was the same for all three spence would be 3rd choice all day long!
Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
Don't just start pulling sh!t out your ass. What we know is that Brook fought 3G. If Spence was as financially lucrative as a Pac and Khan fight, and Pac and Khan were dodging him, Brook's history suggests that he would be more than willing to take a Spence payday. In the know 85 wrote:Tanzio wrote:All "that says" is that Team Brook understands that a fight with Khan or Pac is far more financially lucrative than a Spence fight. In the know 85 wrote:

If you take brooks balls out your mouth for just a minute you'd see how reluctant he is to flight spence! Brooks always going on a bout he's gotta fight his madatorys, "only when their useless" jo jo Dan, Kevin bizier, and the likes of frankie Gavin, as soon as spence is mandatory he'd rather go up in weight or fight anyone but his mandatory! He's full of shit and so are you. You can put his balls back in your mouth now. Enjoy

Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
Eddie Hearn is probably going to try to delay Brook's mandatory defence against Spence in preference for his charge to engage in a big money title unification bout against Pacquiao or the winner of the Thurman-Garcia bout... or even a stadium-filling non-title contest against Amir Khan.
Failing that, Hearn will probably pull a "Tom Loeffler" type manoeuvre (as per the Garcia-Jacobs situation) by asking the IBF to allow the Brook-Spence fight to proceed immediately to purse bids, forcing the Haymon fighter to accept a 25% split of the total purse.
Matchroom and Sky Sports are part of an exclusive elite group of wealthy promoters-networks capable of outbidding Al Haymon.

Pac will not fight Brook and neither will Thurman vs Garcia winner. If Khan finally agrees, then of course Brook will take it - way more money and almost certain win.Enlightened-One wrote:Eddie Hearn is probably going to try to delay Brook's mandatory defence against Spence in preference for his charge to engage in a big money title unification bout against Pacquiao or the winner of the Thurman-Garcia bout... or even a stadium-filling non-title contest against Amir Khan.

When did Loefler force anything to proceed IMMEDIATELY to purse bids ? Jacobs negotiations have been lasting for a few months already.

Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
The word "immediately" was intended to be used in the context of Hearn, since he often labours over the point that Spence is only entitled to 25%, which suggests a reluctance to negotiate terms.boxing_rocks wrote:Pac will not fight Brook and neither will Thurman vs Garcia winner. In terms of Loeffler, he originally asked the WBA to proceed to purse bids prematurely, before their contract negotiation deadline date, but then the K2 boss subsequently decided to change his mind by negotiating the terms instead. Check the timeline, you'll find that I'm right about this (regardless of his reasons).
In regards to your comments about Pacquiao, Thurman and Garcia, you could very well be right, but my thoughts are based on what I heard straight from the proverbial horse's mouth (i.e. what Hearn had previously told iFL TV).
So whilst my opinion may or may not prove to be true, it can be considered a reasonable assessment based on the available information articulated by Eddie Hearn.
Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
Boxing fans are so dumb. Arguing that a buy should not fight pac simply to take a mandatory that would pay a fraction of the money? Really?boxing_rocks wrote:Pac will not fight Brook and neither will Thurman vs Garcia winner. I doubt pac brook is going to happen, although manny is seriously running out of opponents.
Edited to add that my response was not intended for the quoted posts.

No lose situation? His eye socket got broken and he is sidelined temporarily as a result. Brook may not even fight at all at 147 again, unless it is for a large payday like Pac.In the know 85 wrote:It was a no lose situation poo head! And yes he is ducking spence! Nothing that you have spewed makes sense. Choosing to make exponentially more money fighting someone else is not ducking. It is good business.
If it becomes apparent that Brook is specifically ducking Spence I will criticize him for it.

Re: What's up with Spence vs Brook?
Yes it's a no lose, huge payday whatever the outcome, brooks welterweight title not on the line, nobody expects him to win, no pressure, so yeah it's a no lose situation, the fact he got his eye socket broken is unfortunate.. But weight classes are there for a reason. To stop mismatches like that happening, he gambled and lost! By the way he is remaining at 147 because he doesn't want to give up his title, so is spence or bust, that's why he's mentioning Khan, pacquiao and anyone but spence because he's shook stiff!Tanzio wrote:No lose situation?
