Parker bullshit win on points...
Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
I had it 115 - 113 to Ruiz.
Ruiz was always dominating when they both tried to punch at the same time. Parker got some rounds where Ruiz was too passive and could not close the distance. Ruiz would need to learn to cut the ring better. Parker wisely avoided trading when he could. That and hes good chin saved him from being blown out.

I haven't watched the fight yet, but I did see some highlights. The one thing that really impressed me was Ruiz's hand speed.

115-113 for Ruiz
He won the early rounds. He won majority of all the flurrys, his hand speed was incredible and he didn't seem fazed by an shots from Parker..
Ruiz did slow down during 4, 5, 6 and 7 rounds, although I gave him one of them. He seemed to follow Parker around the ring but not throw anything. Parkers jab won them rounds alone.
Ruiz did come back into the fight in the last few rounds, he was always ahead on my scorecard. Both fighters will go back and think they could have done much more, even Parker. Had this fight been on neutral territory, it could have easily been a draw or a close win for Ruiz. Respect to the judges, it really could have gone either way. After the final bell sounded, Ruiz seemed much more confident and probably thought he won, and rightly so.
Both boxers showed nothing but respect to each other throughout the fight. Out of all the titleholders, Parker unfortunately will be considered the weak link. But I just think he is a very cautious fighter.

I just watched the fight on YouTube and I thought Andy Ruiz Jr deserved to win 115-113, close but clear.

But 115-113 for parker isn't a robbery. Just a close close fight.
Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
Yes, but on the neutral place, with neutral judges, Ruiz would win. Parker, definitely haven't done enough... So, corrupted judges continue with killing of boxing.tiny_acres wrote:I agree 115-113 for ruizFreedom2013 wrote:I just watched the fight on YouTube and I thought Andy Ruiz Jr deserved to win 115-113, close but clear.

Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
Was at the fight. guys in front and at both sides of us as did i had ruiz winning the fight. All the replays on the big screen were of parker hitting ruiz and none of the shots ruiz got in. Parker on the back foot whole fight.
Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
Live atmosphere was amazing. 1st world heavyweight tittle fight ive ever been too. I think alot of the crowd knew parker didnt really get it. Big cheers for andy after the fight.

It was made plain by the WBO going into the fight there wouldn't be a rematch. But at that stage David Haye was to fight the winner within 120 days.BIGDOUG58 wrote:At Least there Should be a Rematch in the US.
and give Ruiz a chance at Parker again.

Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
Very surprised to read these results. I thought Parker would win this one easily.
Parker is simply not as good as I'd thought. I figured him to be a true top ten heavy. I guess not.

Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
Parker has very nice handspeed, but his shortcoming in other areas were as evident as ever. Not being able to find the right range, lack of an inside game, little head movement and pulling straight back too much, etc.
Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
Ruiz should have had points taken away for using elbows and even hit on the break a few times not to mention he landed a blow after the bell.
I dont think he landed many punches , a few jabs but those haymakers that landed to the back of Parkers neck were not scoring shots.
Parker landed 80% of the straight crisp clean blows.
This is boxing not Toughman contest !

You probably underestimated Ruiz. Most did.punchoutsb wrote:Very surprised to read these results. I thought Parker would win this one easily.

You know I've never been that high on Parker. That said my favourite heavy "prospect" Ortiz has looked like shit in his last couple of fights so I can't criticise Parker too much really lol.crusader wrote:Parker has very nice handspeed, but his shortcoming in other areas were as evident as ever. Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
Ruiz looked solid...definitely nowhere near as bad as some suggested he'd be.

Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
Drawish fight. Close win for either guy a fine decision. Parker landed more; Ruiz was the aggressor and generally landed the higher quality shots. To me Parker clearly has more upside. Ruiz needs to lose some weight and move his head. He's not a big enough puncher to do the plod forward in a straight line approach.

I'm not writing Parker off, as I think he has some good raw tools and time is very much on his side. Still, that performance definitely shows that he's got a lot of work to do...

Some fair assessments there I think.crusader wrote:Parker has very nice handspeed, but his shortcoming in other areas were as evident as ever. Not being able to find the right range, lack of an inside game, little head movement and pulling straight back too much, etc.
As Mike Tyson used to say "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth," and I think in the heat of battle some of what Barry is trying to drill into Parker goes out the window.
There is definitely room for improvement in some very fixable areas, and I can see positives, and negatives, in that.
Re: Parker bullshit win on points...
Sad, but I don't see the bright future for HW.....I expected much more, only several months ago.
Parker, Ortiz - overhyped
Wilder - injuries
Fury - nobody knows
Klitschko, Povetkin - father time
Joshua and Haye (only) stay in the game.

I don't think so; I see Ruiz as a fat, sloppy top thirty HW whose best win came two years ago against Sergei Liakhovich's ghost. He's fast for a fat guy. I think that's a pretty truthful summary.Like a Boss wrote:You probably underestimated Ruiz. Most did.punchoutsb wrote:Very surprised to read these results. Ruiz is effective. Most didn't acknowledge that pre-fight. Many seemed particularly keen not to acknowledge it - but boxing forums are full of agendas - we all know that.punchoutsb wrote:I don't think so; I see Ruiz as a fat, sloppy top thirty HW whose best win came two years ago against Sergei Liakhovich's ghost.
